Nausea/sickness - Differences between 1st and 2nd pregnancies

This is actually my third pregnancy. Second was ectopic. Hopefully this one is going to progress.

With my DS I had morning sickness like you see in the films - wake up, throw up. I was generally fine then for the day except that every couple of weeks I would have a day or two of more severe sickness where I’d be vomiting all day. The sickness started at 6 weeks and didn’t stop until 20 weeks. The intense periods of sickness were pretty debilitating.

I’m 6+2 now and I’ve been nauseous since about the beginning of week 5. But I haven’t been sick and the pattern is totally different. Feel okay in the morning. I’m constantly starving hungry but it’s after eating that I get the nausea. And it’s much worse afternoons and evenings. Tucked into a hearty lunch today because I was so ravenous and have spent much of the afternoon lying down groaning because I feel so queasy.

Interested as to whether anyone’s had different experiences of sickness across different pregnancies. Also, any tips on the all-afternoon/evening post-eating nausea thing?

Oh, and DH is being generally very supportive but just had an annoying conversation about this in which he said he didn’t think I’d want any dinner if I was feeling so sick and I asked for some plain boiled rice and he said ‘I can’t understand how you can be both hungry and nauseous’. Well, that’s exactly what I am.

I didn't really have anything with my son but been sick as a dog this time!

I'm the same, I have to eat or I feel even worse! But all I have been eating is 'beige'.

Think every pregnancy is different, so far this pregnancy is completely different to my son x
