BHCG results and fetal gender - any thoughts?

Hi all, I am 13 weeks’ pregnant today and had by 12 week scan last week. All seemed OK so far but I had a look at my hormone levels. PAPPA 0.5 MoM and BHCG 0.8. T21 risk 1:1375 which they said is good for my age (36). I wasn’t sure about HCG level - I googled it and it said it was a little low but sonographer said they don’t really worry about HCG at this stage unless super high. I also read that if HCG a little low this means more likely to be a boy? I wondered if anyone had similar HCG to me at 11+4 (when blood taken) and had a girl? DH thinks it’s nonsense ‘if it was so easy to and reliable to predict gender from HCG you wouldn’t need harmony etc etc’ any thoughts or experiences from this? I am so curious thank you xx

I would love an answer to this too. I’m guessing you have your own answer now tho Izzy?

Hello! Yes I have my answer now :) I had a little boy , Alexander who is nearly one now! Of course it’s not an exact science but I think if your HCG levels are lower (less than one) you can be pretty confident you are having a boy. There are quite a few medical papers on this as well. I also didn’t have any morning sickness at all, which tends to be more likely with lower hCG levels, of course there are exceptions with everything. Wishing you all the best. X

I’ll add that I was desperate for a girl and now I have this beautiful and healthy boy I wouldn’t change him for the world, I’d feel privileged to have another boy.
