So I’ve had 3 rounds of IVF and on our latest we finally got a BFP! I tested 8dp5dt (8 days past 5 day transfer) and got a faint but easily noticeable positive. My tests took a while to get darker and even on my official test day which was 11dp5dt they were still light but again obvious positives and my clinic were happy with them. However for peace of mind I asked for a HCG test. On the day my bloods were done I was 16dp5dt and I took another home test before they called with the results, both lines were exactly the same and very dark. I was confident my blood test was going to be great.
I was wrong. My first one was only 168 and they wanted at least 400. So I had another 3 days later (19p5dt) and they had almost quadrupled! Which was amazing but still not as high as the clinic wanted so I went in for an early scan the next day. I was meant to be 5 weeks 5 days. My dates can’t be wrong by too much as it was ivf so we know exactly when the blastocyst was transferred. Or in my case bastocyst(s)! We transferred 2!
The doctor was quiet for so long and I knew something wasn’t right. He then told me he can see 2 sacs but they’re measuring very small so he can’t say weather this is a viable pregnancy or not just yet.
I’m booked back in Monday morning and I will be 6 weeks pregnant. He said they scacs should have grown some more by then and if not then I’ve probably lost them both.
He was honest and told me this could go either way.
I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and has any success stories. I’ve been Googling non stop and I can’t find anyone with a similar story to mine.
