1cm dilated

Had examination yesterday after some loss of fluid. The midwife couldn't see any signs of water gone but said I was 1cm dilated been having strong braxtons or mild contractions but no consistency
They said I'm in early labour. Wondering if anything will happen or if 1cm is pretty normal??
Being induced on Wednesday but just wanted to hear other mums stories. I'm 37+3

Hi @MummaT84 hope you’re feeling ok - seems you don’t have too long to go regardless. I’d say it could go either way. I was dilated 2cm at 37 weeks but didn’t go into labour until 39+5 so didn’t seem to make any difference to me! Goodluck
