Baby measuring 2 weeks ahead - induction or c section

My baby has consistently measured 2 weeks ahead since they first measured my bump at my 25 week appointment.

I’m otherwise low risk & everything has been fine apart from SPD. Midwives haven’t been concerned just said a growth scan at 38 weeks.

I’m now 35 weeks and at my appointment yesterday the midwife said I may possibly be induced, or a c section (if shoulder dystocia) is a risk at 38 weeks.

Anyone else similar?

Try not to stress and wait until you see what growth scan shows. Measurements are notoriously unreliable in mine and many of my friends experiences.

I have been induced and had sections. Personally, I would go for section every time over induction.

If I knew with my first dc what I know now, not a chance I would have been induced. That is very much my own experience though. I know there are lots of women who will disagree.

Thankyou, helpful to hear.

Think from hearing about inductions and possible shoulder delivery issues I’d rather opt for an elective c section than induction ending in a possible emergency one anyway.

But will wait for the scan to see, never understand how the tape measure on bump can be accurate ha!

Nope. Our 2nd measured 4 weeks ahead on growth scans from 28wk. They were going to let me go 2 week overdue before induction.
I was examined at my last consultant app at 39+6 and was 1cm dilated, went to hospital at 40+4 and was 5cm. They refused to break waters as he had polyhydramnios and I was kept in overnight not able to sleep for contractions. The next day after lots of nagging and still 5cm they agreed to break my waters, he arrived 2hr 19mins later. Looking back at my notes I had 14 mins unassisted pushing to get the 10lb 12oz chunk out with 2 episiotomy cuts as his shoulders got a bit stuck. Had G&A but the took it off me for pushing.
Our eldest measured 2cm ahead on fundal height throughout and she came out 7lb 7oz at 39+6.

I wouldn't think too much about it until you've had the growth scan. I gave birth to my first baby 5 weeks ago, was consistently measuring 4 weeks ahead with tape measure, had a growth scan at 28 weeks and he measured above the 95th percentile for everything and my midwife was telling me I'd probably be induced early. Growth scans at 36 and 38 weeks then showed he was actually average size and when he was born he was 8lbs 3oz and not big at all. Like others have said the measurements are notoriously unreliable especially with the tape measure.
