Hi everyone,

I'm about 4 weeks pregnant and I'm researching which hospital to give birth at, I'll be choosing between these 3:

  • St George's
  • Kingston
  • Chelsea & Eestminster

I've god a severe tokophobia and I will be asking for a cesarean, but I'm very nervous that I'll be denied one because I don't have a 'good enough' reason, so I'm wondering if anyone got a selected cesaren at any of the 3 hospitals withouth having complications, simply just because you wanted one?
If so, what did you say in order to get one?

Thanks so much for any advice!!
Sanna

You need to ask for a referral to the consultants. If they refuse to do it they have to refer you to someone who will. You don't have to give a reason anymore, you just have to be firm about what you want.

Thank you Chelyanne,

Will all the 3 hospitals I mention be willing to do a selected cesarean or will they refer me to another hospital?

I'm sure some hospitals are more villing to do it than others, and I don't want to choose the hospital that's gonna give me a hard time and eventually send me to another one, I'd prefer to choose one of the 3 hospitals that are more understanding.

If anyone have had a bad/good experience regarding this at either St George's, Kingston or C&W, I'm very interested in hearing it!

Thanks,
Sanna

You're best asking that question at your booking app, the midwives will be able to help you choose one.
