Hey all and good afternoon.
So I'm 9weeks and 3 days and for weeks now I haven't had an appetite at all I seem to have gone of all my favourite meals and just want to eat plain foods. I'm feeling really tired at night after I finish work. Just wanted to know does anyone else feel the same?
There are days like today where I can't eat anything. So I try and just eat ginger biscuits and lots of water. Iv even gone of flavoured water 🤣
Help meeee gals

I was like this. I just never felt like eating and also went off flavoured water/juice.
I used to feel hungry but the thought of any food would put me off!
However 23 weeks now and definitely making up for it 🐷

Sympathies - I never really had morning sickness but my appetite went zip with DD during the first trimester. Nothing wrong with plain food if it keeps you going. I think I ate a lot of dry toast. Just make sure you’re taking your vitamins, mine also re-emerged with a vengeance later on and baby will take all their nutrients from you so while you may feel rubbish they shouldn’t be affected if you have a few weeks of not eating a model diet!

Oh god yeh, I'm 8 weeks today and finding eating depressing. I am super super hungry all the time, including at 3am, yet when I eat feel like I'm on a boat. Retching doesnt help either. I found this awesome video on YouTube and the things that helped from that include

  • cold water with a spritz of lemon juice (a savour)
  • eat lightly salted popcorn (helps so much)
  • avoid fatty foods for now (makes the sickness worse)
  • eat small and regular.

Hope this helps and good luck @l16bxt

I am exactly the same at 7+3... no appetite whatsoever and I've even gone off chocolate (that's huge for me!). I also feel like I'm constantly thirsty but anything I drink just doesn't quench my thirst.

I'll definitely be trying PP's tip regarding the salted popcorn!!

l16bxt · 22/04/2021 19:39

@Florarenniemackintosh thanks for the helpful tips ☺️ I just won't be trying the salted popcorn as I can't stand it either way. I feel like my appetite is never going to come back.
I have a bit of an obsession with greggs donuts at the moment.
@albeau I hope to gain my appetite again
Thanks girls 😘

I never had cravings but I found lots of foods repulsive. My poor DH had to cook all of his meals in the kitchen with the extractor fan on and all the windows open whilst I lay down with anti-sickness wristbands on!! You are not alone.

Oh yes I had this pretty much around 7/8 weeks it did ease around 12weeks. I hated thinking of our shopping list every week and I just wanted savoury foods. Drinking - I couldn't face anything that I usually would like and I've still not gone back to drinking tea or coffee and I'm now 18weeks. I'm now just wanting to drink fruit drinks like J20, trying to limit myself though.

These hormones can be cruel to us can't they 🤣
I'm currently sat eating a bowl of ice cream. Slowly
@SomeLikeItTepid Iv limited to what I can cook as my partner won't cook 😫 all he cooks is spaghetti carbonara which luckilyi do like 👍

I’m also about 9 weeks. This evening I ate potato waffles. DH made spaghetti bolognese the other day and I just ate the spaghetti. I was very excited at weekend when I managed to eat eggs and baked beans. In the same meal Shock

l16bxt · 22/04/2021 20:48

@InTheNightWeWillWish it's horrible isn't it being limited to what your body will allow you to eat.
I had dippy eggs the other day and ended up disliking them 🤦🏽‍♀️ as for slag Bol I can not stand it anymore x

Oh god yes all of these experiences so ring true for me.

I'm like dreaming of burgers and everything but omg even the heating makes me feel sick. Even the word pregnancy is making me feel queasy right now.

I LOVE food and so it's very hard right now!
