Hi everyone this is my second baby and today is my due date. With my first baby my waters broke first at 37 weeks and then about 12 hours later I got regular contractions so it was all quite straight forward, but last night I was in agony with what felt like contractions (although not regular) they were really intense mainly in my lower back, thighs and lower tummy, (not Braxton Hicks, I get these alot but they don't hurt) this went on all night and now nothing! I really thought it might be it .
I had a bit of mucas plug come away yesterday for the first time during this pregnancy so that gave me a bit of hope. Just wondered if anyone has experienced contractions that stop and start? Also tmi but everytime I woke up it's like I had peed myself! I don't think it was waters as it smelt strongly of wee Blush
I will.give the maternity unit a call but interested to hear others real experiences .

I have a nearly three week old. He's my second. I woke up with contractions at 1am (not bh but real ones across hips and lower bump). Hospital told me to come in as I was an hour and a half away.

Once at hospital, contractions became less regular (they had been every 4 ish minutes). Bloody show started about 5am. At 7am the contractions pretty much stopped altogether. I wasn't really dilated, but cervix was totally effaced and could be stretched to 6cm at that point. They said if my waters went, it would likely be quick.

I posted on mn at the time and people said it wasn't unusual.

By 4pm I was worried about reduced movements, so went in for monitoring. Baby showed some possible distress on ctg. waters broken at 9pm and baby born 1014.

With my first I started getting pains at 11pm which went on irregularly for a few hours stopping me sleeping but once I fell asleep when I woke up they had disappeared and didn't start again until late afternoon the next day. I hadn't lost my mucus plug or anything so I thought they were just very strong braxton hicks but as time went on and pain became stronger I went to get checked and was actually 4cm in active labour!

Good luck xo

Thanks guys it's amazing how different each pregnancy is! I'm losing more mucas plug and I'm so achy but no more contractions so far, atleast it's heading in the right direction!!

Was just going to say that's exactly how my second started, they say second labours can be quite stop start at the start then go really quick at the End, I thought it would have been the start, congratulations xx
