Nausea after scans

Does anyone else get increased nausea after their scans? I’ve had morning sickness pretty relentlessly from 6 weeks, it’s now easing off at 12 weeks but every time I have a scan the nausea gets worse for about 24 hours. Maybe it’s the pressure they put on my tummy?

This is my second pregnancy and it was the same last time too right up to my last one at 32 weeks. I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to prevent it happening? It just makes me anxious for the scans because I know I’ll feel awful for 24 hours and with a toddler it’s harder to manage this time round!

Could it be because you are laying on your back, sometimes tipped even slightly further back?

I get often get nauseas and dizzy at the hairdressers when they wash my hair as my head is tipped back.

@Teakind it could be, although it usually doesn’t start straight away, usually once I’m on my way home. I wondered if it was the pressure causing a release of hormones or something? I have my 12 week scan today and wish I wasn’t dreading the next 24 hours of sickness! Not sure there’s anything I can do to avoid it unfortunately Confused

I did but it was off lying on my back as I never lay on my back at home whilst preg. Knocked me ill.
Could be the pressure
