My child has just turned one and I'm late on my period and cramping and have a strong smelling wee all the telling signs I was pregnant with my first so I'm quite confident . I will 100 percent be having an abortion but has anyone got any ( positive ) abortion pill
Stories theirs a lot in here that are tramautic but at the same time honest ones and not sugar coating .
Appreciated

My friend has just been through this.
I don't think you'll find a positive story out there to be honest.
She said after the first pill she got some mild cramping and thought to herself that all these stories she had heard were exaggerations etc. But after the second one, she realised how wrong she was.
She managed to get comfortable enough to get a couple of hours sleep through the cramps and sickness but when she stood up it was like a flood gate. She was wearing a pad but it literally flooded the pad down her legs and it was not pleasant at all.
I really feel for you, but I would be prepared for a not very nice time.

Hi @summerrain34!

Firstly, I hope you are ok.

I had an abortion two years ago and took the tablets. The first one was taken in the hospital where I felt fine, just a little nervous on the drive home. Once we got home, we just relaxed and got ready to take the others later on, there's a window where you take them after the first.

Once they were taken, it took a good few hours before anything started to happen and I was concerned it wasn't working. Eventually, I started to experience intense cramps/contractions that lasted for 3 hours before the passing happened which was hard to be honest. Amongst the pain, discomfort and seeing everything physically it did upset me and I was finding the amount of blood lost hard to take.

We called the hospital (they give you a number to call to check in or ask questions at any time) and the reassurance and care was everything. All was going to plan and it was just sheer shock that was making me even worse. The pain started to stop fairly quickly as well as the blood. I wore pads for about 5 days after and went on holiday abroad (this was planned before the abortion and I still went). No issues with blood clots on the plane etc... anyway off track.

I have now gone on to have another baby who is 10-months! We are happy with our decision of abortion as we just were not ready.

Sending you love and I am always here for a chat if you need me. You are the only person that can make the decision and it will be the right one for you xx

I have a vaguely positive experience... I took first lot of tablets at the clinic, drove home. Was exhausted so fell asleep, woke up a bit later and felt like I needed to pass something so did. Felt ok tbh. Not bad pain but I did take stuff with first lot of pills.

I had been so sick with the pregnancy, the feeling of the sickness going away that evening and being able to eat again was immense and I think made the other part better.

Not traumatic though. Was doing school run next day etc. Can’t even remember blood loss in the following days so can’t have been bad.
X

@babyboybluex thank you so much for your lovely message found it really encouraging and not to scary lol . I already have a child who has just turns one who funny enough is called Bleu and just don't think I could handle another so an abortion is definitely what I need to do . Just so scared somthing might go wrong I will end up bleeding out and dying or ending up in hospital I have awful anxiety and also frightened I might see the baby as it's coming out very anxious

I had first tablet 2 weeks ago at hospital and was sent home to take the second lots of tablets 2 days later. I didn’t even get that far; had some cramping and a tiny bleed that night after the first tablet, and then 2 days later when I was due to take my second lot I woke up and was bleeding. Passed the pregnancy within an hour of being up. I still took the second lot of tablets as instructed and some pain relief and sickness tablets and I just stayed in bed all day and watched tv. I had hardly any pain and no sickness.

Good luck to you, not a nice situation to be in x

I didnt have an abortions these are the same tablets used for a treatment of a missed miscarriage to induce the sac, which was measuring a little over 8 weeks (we found out at 9.5 weeks)

The first tablet i took in the hospital, the 2nd set (misoprostol) 24 hours later at home was by far one of the worst experiences of my life. Excessive pain (like contractions) then heavy clotting for about 7 hours. The bleeding got so bad I was taken to emergency overnight then had to repeat the misoprostol the next day.

Unfortunately they didn't work completely (10% chance of failure) and I had an ERPC yesterday, and also have an infection.

I hope this doesn't scare you, I could be one of the unlucky few, but I wish I was warned about the tablets (not just there will be some bleeding). Best of luck op xx

My abortion process began yesterday. I am quite young and this was my first abortion/pregnancy (unplanned and the father didn’t want it). I attended the clinic with my mum in the morning around 10. The actual consultation with the midwife lasted roughly 20 minutes, she took pretty generic medical information about my health and asked safeguarding questions. She then scanned me, over the belly (I was 9weeks and 1day), initially she had the monitor turned away however I asked to see the screen which she didn’t mind showing, your midwife may ask if you want to take the images of the fetus. After this she then explained the process and gave me the first pill. I had no type of side effects personally except in the evening feeing sharp cramps, more similar to ovulation cramps.

Today around 10am going by her instruction given the day before I placed the two pills in my gums (they do actually just taste pretty chalky with a veryyyyy manageable medicinal taste). I also made sure to eat before and drink quite a lot of water! I would say I began feeling slight cramping (similar to day 1 period cramps) pains around 20 minutes into placing them in my gums and they were completely dissolved by about 30 minutes. Around 12.00 after going to the toilet I had a yellowy gloopy, slightly brown discharge, then an hour later watery brown very faint bloody discharge in my pad. Quite a lot of this.

Around 2/3pm I ate and my belly felt a bit strange/heavyish so went to the toilet to see period type blood in the pad and upon getting up from the toilet and a slight kinda push a huge plop fell into the toilet. I’ll be real I examined this huge clot (about the size of a tennis ball) and could see fleshy material, not a clear embryo as it was merged with the clotted blood but could clearly see it was tissue as was quite thick, I also saw what I am guessing would’ve been the umbilical cord as it was a stringy thick fleshy like.

The next following two hours were quite similar painful cramps which came and went. But bleeding has generally been like a day 1 period. Nothing crazy at all but I guess everyone is different.

One thing I would recommend that I did, to make the messiness super manageable just in case is to get the tena panty type pads (the ones that are like pampers lol) they’re super thick and secure, meaning completely NO mess!

For anyone woman young or old know that your decision is YOURS, I’m lucky to have a mum who has been through the process before. She made it easy to make my decision as she had told me that it’s not a decision that a “certain” type of woman makes. If you don’t feel ready don’t do it and if you do want to don’t feel guilty at all and know essentially it’s part of being a woman and a human who has authority over her own body.

I just really wanted to share my experience as I myself couldn’t find any descriptions that gave me enough information.

Love you all xxx
