Another hospital bag thread (sorry!) first time Mum here, 30 weeks on Friday. I just wondered when everyone began to pack their hospital bag and what it included

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I did mine at 34 weeks and had an 'on the day' list written on a notepad on top.

Ava50x · 20/04/2021 17:49

I like to do mine at around 33-34 weeks when I find I'm starting to get fed up with pregnancy- makes baby seem so much more real when i'm packing tiny nappies and sleepsuits!

sausagesandbeanz · 20/04/2021 17:52

Don't forget wet toilette tissue things! I went through packs of them and they were a god send, better than using rough toilet paper on your bits and you can flush them down the loo!

Moorelewis · 20/04/2021 17:54

37 weeks for my second probably around 36 for my first. I'd definitely make a list and mark off as you go.

Chelyanne · 20/04/2021 17:56

Usually around 35/36wk.
Maternity pads, breast pads, full briefs (2 sizes bigger), nightie with popper front (1 per night), slippers, thin dressing gown, phone charger, leggings, stretchy top, jacket, socks, bra, shoes, toiletries.
3 bodysuits, 3 sleepsuits, hat, blanket, jacket or cardigan, small pack nappies, wet wipes, nappy sacks, changing mat (anti-bac wipes for that), ready made formula bottles.
Snacks if you think you'll need them, I lose my appetite during labour and wasn't hungry for several hours after my cesarean.
If I needed extra I'd get hubby to bring it.

BananaCustard85 · 20/04/2021 20:07

Hello I'm just thinking about this too. Have been searching for the perfect labour nightie, if anyone has any suggestions 🙂 something cheap with buttons down the front would be brilliant. Especially if it doesn't have teddies or slogans on it! @chelyanne I was wondering if you have a link to ones you've used with the poppers? Thanks

sausagesandbeanz · 20/04/2021 20:24

@BananaCustard85

Try George @ Asda, I got mine from there and it was fab

Chelyanne · 20/04/2021 21:36

@BananaCustard85 sorry no links, I got previous ones from Mothercare but they're gone now. There are a few on amazon but I haven't bought any yet so can't say if they're good or not.

BananaCustard85 · 25/04/2021 19:25

Just in case anyone else is looking, these Boohoo ones are on offer www.boohoo.com/maternity-button-front-nightie/BZZ46658.html?color=105

Thanks @sausagesandbeanz and @chelyanne for your replies 😊

Loads of big incontinence maternity pads and loads of nappies! Two things I run out of after birth

PrimeraVez · 26/04/2021 07:25

A phone charger with an extra long cable!

I also took my own pillow and really appreciated it!
