Yes it's extremely common which is what your midwife should have explained.

Fundal height measurements are very subjective. They are a good indicator for fetal growth but not the be all and end all, scans are more accurate hence why you have been sent for one.

When measuring the fundal height you aren't just measuring baby, you're measuring the baby, amniotic fluid, placenta, uterus plus your layers of fat and muscle.

Growth scans are extremely common in pregnancy, do not worry.

2cm either side is absolutely fine and within the realms of normalSmile

2 weeks ahead on fundal height isn't very much, it's not very accurate.
Our eldest was always 2cm ahead on fundal height and was a very average 7lb 7oz. Our other singletons were way ahead on fundal height and growth scans showed they were big with extra fluid too but I had good natural births with them.

I’ve been 2/3 weeks ahead since they first measured my bump, midwife isn’t concerned. I’m having a growth scan at 38 weeks but that’s it.Smile

I was the opposite, 2 or 3cm under and was referred for a growth scan and baby measuring absolutely perfectly, sitting between 50th-90th percentile (more towards 90th), the tape measuring method is not very accurate for a lot of people x
