Fetal medicine referral

I had my 20 week scan on Friday and the sonographer stated i have a low lying placenta nearly covering os. Everything was fine with the baby.
I have been referred to fetal medicine in 4 weeks time so 24 weeks.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
I've had a look on Google and everything says referral is usually at 34 weeks. Wondering now why I'm being seen earlier?
Thanks x

I'd call and get clarification. Seems an unusual time and reason for feral medicine referral.
