Bleeding in first trimester

Hi ladies. Hope everyone is doing ok!

I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago. 2 days after my positive tests I started with light spotting. I left it about 4 days and went for a scan at EPU. Was predicted to be 5 weeks so was told to return in 2 weeks to see what was happening.

It’s now 11 days later and the bleeding still continues, it’s gotten a lot darker and had tiny bits of tissue. It only happens when I wipe but just really getting me down. I took another test yesterday which had really solid lines but I just know deep down what’s happening can’t be normal.

I’m still getting the tiredness and aching breasts but that’s about it. Is anyone experiencing anything similar? I just can’t wait for my appointment next week to be told what’s happening!

Hey @LolaX94. Sorry to hear you are going through this, I know how worrying it is.

I'm almost 17 weeks with my first and had similar spotting to you throughout my first trimester, and still get some now. Sometimes it was pink with little clots or bits of tissue.I was in and out of EPU and private scans...no one has ever been able to find a cause and think it may be a cervical ectropian/erosion but not sure. I also had few symptoms and was convinced I'd lost baby at one point.

Fortunately my pregnancy seems to be progressing well so whatever it is it doesn't seem to have affected baby. You won't know for sure until you have an appointment but I just want to reassure you it doesn't always mean a bad outcome. Good luck! Sending hugs x
