Hi,
My DH has just been diagnosed with shingles and a nurse where he was been looked at said the baby may be at risk (I'm 10 weeks), even though I have had chicken pox as a child.
I think she is wrong, and the GP we spoke to previously said not to worry, but it seeded doubt in my mind, and it is over 35 years since I had chicken pox.
Called maternity helpline earlier and they put me through to screening people, as I have my first blood test on Wednesday the lady there said to me to write on the pink form 'partner diagnosed with shingles please screen for parvo virus IgG and IgM'
Only realised after chicken pox is cause by VZV and I don't believe it is a type of parvo virus (I think that is something else entirely) , so think she has asked me to request the wrong test. I will double check with them, but a bit concerned they were confused.
And just feeling a bit unsettled by it all and also means DH can't come to scan or first midwife appointment, as would be a slight risk to any one who hasn't had chicken pox :(
It anyone has had the test in the UK nhs please let me know the name.
Many thanks
