Morning,

As the title says really! When did your sickness/nausea/early pregnancy symptoms subside?

I am 13+2 today and have suddenly started feeling a lot better! Since about 6 weeks I've been chucking up every morning, nauseous all day and super tired but suddenly this has gone and it's making me paranoid!

Thanks xx

The placenta ‘takes over’ at around 12ish weeks and this often coincides with the morning sickness easing off.
You might be able to feel your uterus soon (if you haven’t already). Sometimes easier when lying down!

With #1 it eased around 20 weeks but still had the odd moment throughout.

With #2 I was still throwing up in the delivery suite then it magically disappeared when she was born!

It varies a lot and some people never really have any symptoms, try not to worry :)

With #1, I got about 3-4 weeks off from the nausea around 6 months and then it started again and lasted through the whole pregnancy. With #2, I think I got almost 2 months off in the middle.
I had a friend who "felt a little nauseous" one day when brushing her teeth, but otherwise had nothing in any of her 3 pregnancies. AND she literally popped the babies out with almost no pain or effort. (I had 40 hours of labor followed by an emergency cs with the first and a VBAC with 6 hours of very painful labor followed by 15 stitches and a post partum hemorrhage with the second.). Sorry to be a scare monger, but I wish someone had warned me so I could go back and have elective cs's with both.)

Ha I remember this! I was really sick, and around the 12th week I asked DP when he thought it might stop. "Next Thursday " he said.

And it stopped that Thursday.

Now I know this was just a (bloody good) guess, but it stopped overnight, no fading in my case. Very sick to skipping around the garden.

With my first and second no symptoms whatsoever. Currently pregnant with my third and nausea was so bad I had to take two different meds. Started subsiding last week at 33 weeks and I'm currently 34 weeks. But now third trimester reflux and indigestion has taken over 😂

PinkCookie11 · 19/04/2021 07:52

I had sickness for 3-4 weeks stopped by week 10

BeHereNowx32 · 19/04/2021 07:53

@sneakpeek1414
10 weeks for me. And all was fine :)

PinkPlantCase · 19/04/2021 07:56

Mine was 100% gone by 16 weeks. I did have some issues with dizziness though at around 13 weeks so that definitely made the sickness worse.

At 32 weeks I started to feel sicky in the mornings again depending on what I had for breakfast. But that was easy to manage.

CaptainSpirit · 19/04/2021 08:20

About 12 weeks with my first, 14 weeks with my second.
16 weeks with my third now and still going. 🤢

sneakpeek1414 · 19/04/2021 08:33

Wow so there is a lot of variation!

I'm hoping this is normal then! I literally feel fine today and I've been feeling completely grim for weeks! It's crazy to have energy again 🙃🙃

Both pregnancies (nausea only one with anti-sickness medication one without):

Very slow improvement from 8/9 weeks

Felt loads better more suddenly at 12 weeks but still felt nausea sometimes and had food aversions still.

More gradual improvement till it was gone completely at 15/16 weeks

IamMaz · 19/04/2021 08:56

I feel for you, OP.
I never suffered from nausea at all, I'm relieved to say.
I was really hoping to have got cravings for spicy food [I HATE SPICES!!!] but I didn't... MY DH loves spicy food so I was hoping we could both have a curry together for once!!!
I got really bad swollen ankles a few days before DS was born until he was a few days old.

everydaysablessing · 19/04/2021 09:27

About 25 weeks with DD. 21 weeks now and still vomiting, exhausted and pelvic pain.

daisyjgrey · 19/04/2021 10:26

My last vomit was about 40 minutes after I gave birth...
