I’m 5 + 5 weeks starting to worry slightly yesterday and today I’ve experienced mild constant pain in lower left side almost like a period pain it’s not stopped me doing anything and I feel fine otherwise it’s just there its not sore to go to the toilet there’s no blood nothing but I woke up thinking well hoping it would have disappeared but it hasn’t yet.. should I be worried? I’ve googled and it’s panicked me but I’m not in pain it’s just there

I didn't have pain when I had an ectopic. Just pinky discharge for a week or so. Then I had a sudden intense pain, which lasted for an hour or so and a massive bleed. I didn't know I was even pregnant. I felt like I was coming down with the flu or something.

Not constantly hurting at all. The main thing to look out for is shoulder tip pain.

Currently 5 weeks pregnant had lower abdomen pain for a couple of days but also have trapped wind so unsure if it is this. Went to walk in last night done a urine test came back clear. Doctor said she doesn’t think it’s an eptopic/appendicitis but can’t be 100% sure. Doctor said to go to a&e if it worsened. Still in pain this morning took paracetamol not helping. Really stuck with what to do surely something has to be causing the pain. Any help would be appreciated

@PaigeS96 could you call the EPU? They should be able to advise you.

PaigeS96 · 25/04/2021 19:34

I’m going to ring the midwife tomorrow and see what they say!

Hi I was in the same situation 5+5 had just the mild pain in lower left side. Went to EPC and they did an internal scan and was told the pregnancy “looked like it was in the womb” had to go back 2 days later to get more bloods taken to make sure hormone levels were rising. Then had to go back to EPC Friday there 6+5 to get another scan. They confirmed it’s 100% in the womb and has developed the yolk sac now. The pain has gone now (touch wood) and have another scan on may 5th should be 8+2 so hopefully see more then. I’d deffo get in touch with EPC it put my mind at ease a bit x

I had a lot of low down abdominal pain early pregnancy and was convinced it was ectopic so book an early scan at 8 weeks and baby was growing well in the right place and I'm now 16 weeks!

PaigeS96 · 25/04/2021 20:49

Can you contact EPU out of hours! So glad everything worked out for you!

I never had shoulder tip pain - mild pain getting worse, and discharge. It was never so bad I'd have got it checked if in hadn't known I was pregnant. An ectopic pregnancy can be in so many different places and different sizes.

I'd definitely get it checked. The other thing that made it seem likely for me was those pregnancy tests that show how many weeks - was stuck on 1-2 for about four weeks and then stuck on three. So if you have access that might be worth checking.

Hope you are okay and everything goes well for you.

I have had an ectopic and also had implantation pain with my other pregnancies. The ectopic pain was constant and really hurt when I stretched my legs out (I remember trying to run and having to stop because it hurt so much that I ended up in tears). Don't know how far along I was as I was still bf and my periods hadn't returned. Call the EPU- they were great with me.

Phone the hospital and ask to get out through to EPC i went in a Thursday tea time Saturday morning and Friday morning. It might be different in different areas but I’d 100% phone to make sure and put your mind at ease x

Called docs sent for a scan - no eptopic - gestational sac with a lovely little yolk sac 🤞. They think the pain could be my bowels! Going back in 2 weeks for the viability scan!

Sparkles29 · 26/04/2021 17:15

I used to get this with all my pregnancies-I'm sure it's the placenta starting to grow & the throbbing feeling is blood pumping through? All 3 pregnancies absolutely fine
Good luck with everything Smile
