Headaches: first trimester

I’m 11weeks and suffering daily with headaches. Usually in the afternoon, they stay until the evening where I have to go to bed early to get a break. I can wake up in the night with them too.
This morning I’ve woken up with a light constant headache again.
I’m drinking loads and loads of water, I’m well hydrated. I spoke to my midwife and she said it’s hormonal and nothing to worry about.

But this feels so constant and exhausting/stressful.

Does this sound normal to you? Any advice on how to cope?

It is hormonal but it does get better as the placenta starts to take over. The 2nd trimester tends to be when all the rubbish symptoms start to ease off.

I had a 3 day persistent headache in week 12.
I found water wasn’t helping and I’d go to sleep and wake up and it would be the same intensity. I tried some electrolyte powder mixed with my water and that worked.
I think because I had been drinking so much water my salts and sugars were out of whack.

I’m also in the first trimester and can’t offer any advice, only sympathise. I’m also getting terrible pounding headaches in the morning but could probably increase my water intake.

Unsure if paracetamol is appropriate to use and have read conflicting information on the net. NHS website says it’s safe to take during pregnancy but goes on to say “However, for safety, if you take paracetamol in pregnancy, take it for the shortest possible time.”

I had quite a lot of headaches in the first and second trimester. I found the 4head stick really useful.

I was reluctant to take paracetamol regularly and the stick took the edge of the headaches.

Hi. I’m having regular headaches at the moment. I’m 8 weeks pregnant. I saw a midwife last week who said to increase my water consumption as how much I was drinking pre pregnancy isn’t enough now. She also said it’s perfectly safe to take paracetamol.

Hope you feel better soon OP. I’m counting the days to 12 weeks!
