Epidural - vertigo

Hi Ladies, I am due in 3 weeks and thinking about pain relief in labour. I suffer from vertigo and when I talked to my doctor he said to ask for epidural which will help me to stay calmer. Moving my head a lot could trigger massive dizziness I would like to avoid. Is there anything else you would recommend? I also invested in tens machine. I wouldn't like to use gas and air as I think that would make me proper dizzy / sick etc Also when do I ask for epidural? I've heard many stories it was too late for some women to have it done? I will appreciate your advice xx

Hi OP, that's interesting he advised that. I get vertigo too and can't sit on a birthing ball as it makes me feel so sick.

I've had two children though and luckily have never felt really dizzy in labour as my head wasn't moving around excessively. I've used a tens machine, gas and air and pethidine (wouldn't recommend that one!).
