Is this routinely tested for at booking in blood tests?

I don't think so, but don't quote me on that.

Are you worried you may be at risk?

ClaphamLauren · 12/11/2007 14:37

I'm a serial worrier and I've read in magazines and online about quite a few stillbirths recently and I know the risk is pretty low but I worry about it anyway. One of the ones I read was about a woman who had toxoplasmosis.

Plus about a month ago I went to a dinner party and there was parma ham in the dish and I didn't realise so just going into worry overdrive!

I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Unless of course you have been emptying the cat litter tray with bare hands, then licking them clean afterwards?!

If you are worried, speak to your mw about it. I'm sure she'll put your mind at rest.

Claphamlauren,So nice to know I'm not the only worrier, I have too been worrying about Toxo, I'm 7 weeks and have a cat - although not too worried about that as I've always been very clean with her care and she's an indoor cat anyway for now. But I worried about the gardening I did in the months leading before I became preg, but again I'm sure I didn't lick my fingers afterwards! But I still get those rabbit in the headlights moments...worriers you know what I mean right!
I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, most people have had it before anyway and once you've had it before you can't get it again.
