Fell in early pregnancy

Hi everyone, I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance.

I fainted & fell off a ladder earlier today. I went to A&E, have broken arm in 2 places, mild concussion & a sprained ankle. When I was at the hospital they were doing tests to see why I fainted & it turns out I'm pregnant again! I'm delighted. Super early - no more than 3-4 weeks going by HCG. However, I had a miscarriage about 6 weeks ago at 8 weeks pregnant. My third. So I'm feeling super anxious now that I've probably done something that's going to result in the same thing happening again.

Has anyone fallen, injured themselves in early pregnancy & all been well? Just want to hear some positive stories while sitting on the sofa nursing my arm! Smile

Ouch! Hope you’re ok OP
Have you had negative tests between your fall and miscarriage so you can be sure it’s not left over hcg?
If you are pregnant then baby will be fine! They’re absolutely tiny at that stage and there’s so much muscle and fat there to protect them Flowers

Yes, they did blood tests until it had dropped low & I followed it up with negative tests so definitely a new pregnancy, unexpectedly quickly!

Thanks so much, I know deep down it won't have made a difference but I can't help but worry! Helps to have someone else tell me that. 💜

Hi just wanted to add that yes I'm sure baby will be fine. When I was pregnant with one of mine I had quite a bad electric shock from an exposed wire(thanks to my lovely bunnies) it blew me right back across the room! I ended up going to hospital as I was worried and they done ecg and some other tests, luckily all was absolutely fine xx
As pp said, they are so little early days and well protected in our awesome bodies 😊
Good luck with everything x

Thank you for replying. Definitely helps put my mind at ease & I'm really not wanting an anxious pregnancy. As much as I can help it anyway! I'm so glad all worked out for you. That must have been scary! X

Hi Jellyberiblue - congratulations !! Don’t worry too much , when i had my last i didn’t know i was pregnant it was Christmas and i went up the loft to get the Christmas decks down - stepped backwards fell out the loft and down the stairs , broke mum arm like you and my knee cap popped. Went to hospital in agony thats when i found out i was pregnant i worried the whole pregnancy that I’d harmed my son or something was going to happen even though i was only 7 weeks pregnant. That was 21 years ago .... today hes a strapping police man always up a ladder!!!

Aaw Cherryblossum that made me smile so much, 'always up a ladder!'. Thank you. 💜

Very early days so don't think you need to be worried

I had a miscarriage last year fell pregnant unwittingly weeks after and had been drinking alot and turned out I was 5 weeks pregnant

Baby is fine and is due in 1o days !

Jellyberiblue · 18/04/2021 08:16

Congratulations @Mother2princess that's lovely to hear. I think after having a miscarriage it's so difficult to relax & enjoy the pregnancy. So I'm doing my best to chill out about it all. Just finding out that way didn't help! Haha though it has helped me get through the pain of the injuries.

I had 2 miscarriages but then had my daughter, then another miscarriage & now pregnant again. So I'm just going to have to focus on the fact my body successfully did it once & can do it again!

Enjoy your lovely newborn cuddles when they come! Xx

Just remember how small a baby is at this stage of pregnancy - so is totally cushioned in your womb. Wouldn’t have even felt the fall. Xxx

I had the worst wipeout when ice skating a few days before I got my first BFP. I was literally lying on the ice in shock while my training partner laughed at me! Nothing broken, but loads of bruises. Also got on a flight the next day, so did everything wrong, really! Anyway, DS is now almost two and perfectly healthy.

I fell off my horse 3 times in one day (blame early
Pregnancy symptoms messing with my core and balance!) when I was about 5-6 weeks. Currently 24 weeks and baby perfect in every scan so far.
