Hey, I went for the OGTT at 30 weeks after gluecose was detected in my urine sample which the results come back negative. Since then I have had another 2 urine samples that have come back with glucose in. Could the results have been wrong? Is there a different test I could do to check this? Could the glucose be anything else? Im now 35 weeks so its getting late on....

Hi op, did they do a fasting blood test and one after the drink? What were your results?

It is possible to develop it later on after passing a GTT. If you're worried, you could get a blood glucose monitoring check your levels yourself first thing in the morning and after food.

Thanks for your response @Teakind Yeah it was a green drink I had bloods before and then I think 2 hours after.
They didnt say the results of it they just said I didnt have it. Is it something I should buy or would they provide it do you know?

I’d call them on Monday and ask for your specific results. It would give you an idea of how close you were or whether you were borderline. Thresholds can vary by trust but generally the rule is under 5.3 fasting level and under 7.8 afterwards.

Explain you are worried and ask them what else they think it could be causing the sugars. If they won’t give you a monitor, you can buy them in places like Boots.

It’s perfectly possible you don’t have it and something else is causing it but GD is progressive so can suddenly kick in/get worse.
