High nt 3.4 13+4 weeks

Hello ladies,
I am really looking forward for some heads up in my situation. I'm 32 and this is my second pregnancy first DD completely healthy. Have been trying from past two years to conceive and have a large fibroid as well. Went in for my NT scan n got a report of 3.4 nt and blood works came up 1:215 for Downs have done CVS and now results awaited. I'm very nervous and can't get my self thinking positive. I very desperately want things be all normal. Any one sailing /sailed in the same boat. Please do give your inputs.

Hi OP I've just gone through this. I had a raised NT OF 3.7 and cystic hygroma. My ration came back as 1:14 for downs. But my amnio results show no abnormality. I'm not waiting for the anomaly scan but I'm not worried as so far they can't see anything else wrong. I went through hell during the process but came to realise that there are a lot of positive cases. Please hang in there! The first part of the results take about 3 days so day 3/4 call them if they haven't called you. The second part takes 10-14 days to come through. Honestly have hope, even though I was a mess, i had a deep down feeling it would be fine.

I m so glad u got good reports and I'm sure anomaly will be fine too. Thank you for the update buh honestly the waiting is a torcher.

My nt was 6mm with a 1:20 for downs my amniocentesis came back normal. I’m waiting for my 20 week scan now but so far nothing has been picked up since.

Thank you xxx I know the wait is torture, all the thoughts that come is torture. What you read up online is not very promising but if you notice there's limited studies online. There's a baby centre page where people have posted their positive outcomes and there's loads, like 70+ pages of it. Sometimes the lymphatic system takes a little longer to form which shows more fluid. Just needs some time to fix itself.

When you had the cvs, did your report say if all the organs were present? They do an anomaly scan before the procedure so there should be some details of what they saw. Even if baby measures a little small it's not a big thing because at this early stage they can often be a little smaller.

It is true what the nurses say, loads of people get raised NT and have healthy babies xxx

I'm sure you have been referred to call the ARC. They're good to talk to, helps to regulate the feelings. When I rang them I said that the hospital staff don't give you hope but they also aren't exactly convincing that's it all doom. The lady on the phone said they can't tell you whether to terminate / hard to get answers out of, but you have to try and read their vibe / mood. If they think it's bad, without saying anything you will get that vibe. And she was right, I started to reflect on the staff I came into contact with and they weren't exactly worried but like they had to follow a script of telling you all the bad things that could happen. I changed my attitude to they need to prove to me there's something wrong because I'm just not 100% convinced. Maybe my mother's intuition kicked in, but deep down I just felt that it's not genetic and that helped me keep going

They did check and bodily they couldn't find any isuue. It's just downs they wanna check. Test was done on 14th April. Here it takes 5 days for the report.

@Absc @Zanina I may sound more negative than practical sorry for that but in all those stories na read a lady with 3.2 nt got a positive for downs and two with 4.2 had to terminate again coz of downs. Hence was very nervous and Im just not able to put my self together.
