Can braxton hicks become frequent with a pattern then suddenly stop?

I had “contractions” last night from 7pm till I went to bed around 11. They were coming every 3-5 minutes, lasting around 30-50 seconds.

I really thought it was labour, but the contractions just didn’t seem sore enough. Went to bed and it’s all stopped.

Can braxton hicks get that regular? This is baby number 3

With my third child on my due date exactly this happened. We were shopping and I had frequent (it was 10yrs ago so details are a bit foggy) what I was certain was contractions. Carried on, got home and they stopped. It must have lasted a number of hours, my mum (Who was with me) and I were absolutely convinced it was labour.

But in my case I got home and they stopped, and never had another twinge until she was induced at 42wks 😭😭😭 it was a lovely easy labour but so so disappointing.

I had exactly this at 37 weeks one night over a week ago... Contractions every 3-5 minutes, lasting around 60s. Lasted for about 3 hours then I fell asleep and nothing since. Midwife said it could have been Braxton hicks but I get these frequently during the day and this time felt very different. I've had nothing at all like it since so no idea what it was and sadly wasn't a sign of labour coming soon.
