Pregnancy Sleeping Problems

Hi all,

Anyone had issues with sleeping around 24/25 weeks? I am sleeping on my left/right sides as advised by midwife. But during the night after a couple of hours sleep whichever side I’m sleeping on is numb from my hip to thigh.. and then I turn to the other side and the same thing happens. Although when I go to then turn back to the other side it’s still numb and sore so feeling really uncomfortable.

Any advice? I already have a pregnancy pillow, and I am sleeping with a duvet underneath me to prop my hips off the mattress as well.

I have exactly the same. I have a pregnancy pillow and a mattress topper from amazon which helped a lot, works better than a duvet as that's what I used to start with. But honestly it never goes away for me. I just got used to never sleeping well. Good rehearsal for having a baby I think...

I get up early every morning not because I'm done sleeping but because my hips hurt too much to stay in bed. I try to have a nap in the afternoon. Good luck... x

Yes - 32.5 weeks and same here. Unfortunately haven’t found a solution yet so following with interest! X

No advice but having the same issue, although I'm also getting signs of PGP. Some nights are better than others so I just get an early night when I can and hope it's a good one!!

@ThinkingAbout I’ve had this on and off since 16 weeks. Luckily it’s not every night, but am 24 weeks now and it’s getting increasingly worse. I looked it up and it does have a name but can’t remember what! I don’t have any advice I’m afraid, but I do sympathise x

I feel your pain.. the things we go through with pregnancy Sad
36+5 and it’s getting worse, it’s so difficult to even turn from one side to the other without getting some sort of pain in my backbone.

I have the same issue. I'm 25 weeks and it'll only get worse from here. I remember it all too well with my first and, after giving birth, feeling estatic as I would be able to slerp comfortably. That joy was obviously short lived as I was kept up have the night with baby for a good 4 months after birth.

Someone on another thread said they now sleep on a blow up/air bed. Maybe that could be an option?
