Hi all, I've been very forgetful recently. We are ttc and I take folic acid tablet every night, but tonight I took one but can't remember if I already took it. My period is due next week and worried that if I am preg it will affect the baby.
Can anyone give me any advice?

Assuming it's a standard (400mcg) dose I'm sure you'll be fine. GPs sometimes prescribe doses more than 10x higher than that to high risk pregnant women! www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/vitamins-supplements-and-nutrition/

I took a high dose of folic acid in pregnancy, I can't think that you will have caused any harm please don't worry

You pee out what you can't use. It'll be fine.

Don't worry it won't do any harm, but you can get an app on your phone that reminds you to take medication every day and then once you've taken it you check it off, so you don't forget. I do this with prenatals.

Thank you all, I feel reassured and not going to worry now. I might have a look at the app and give it a try. Smile
