subchorionic hematoma

Hi all can you please help me ?

I have been diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma/ implantation bleed since i have been 5 weeks .

i went to scan yesterday at 14 weeks and it's got biggger 33x8x40 is this really big ?? do you think this will resolve by 20 weeks.?

i'm so scared can some please share their stories.

I had a large SCH which was found at 18 weeks after some bleeding. I spotted daily for 10 weeks with 4 big red bleeds in that time. Each one after 23 weeks I had to be admitted for 24 hours.

Mine was right above my cervix which are more prone to bleeding apparently because its a straight exit for the blood. Mine increased in size from around 3x6 cm to its largest being 6x8cm which is normal for it to do dependant when the scans are done. SCH are like scabs and bleed when disturbed. The consultant said it would either resolve (be reabsorbed) or bleed out completely and I think mine bled out.

I went for a scan at 28 weeks and it was completely gone with no trace whatsoever. Ones around in the second trimester are much, much less threatening than those in the first because of the size of the baby in comparison comparison the bleed

Oh, and that baby is now 15 months and trotting around the living room!

Sorry I haven’t had one of these but does anyone know why they happen? X

I had a bleed at 9 weeks. Had a private scan and the baby was fine, the bleed turned out to be a hematoma - the sonographer said it was from overdoing things at work, however my doctor said sometimes there is no detectable cause and you can get them even if you have been resting. It’s very confusing!

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and mine has gone down in size - I had been resting and off work following the initial diagnosis so maybe this helped? I’m just a little unsure of what to do next as I’m back in work on Monday and I’m terrified of it happening again. Anyone been through similar?
