Positive Test or Evap Line?!?

martinchar00 · 14/04/2021 20:08

I took two Tesco own brand tests today, one this morning and one this afternoon - both looked negative within the time frame so I put them back in the box and in the bin, my curiosity getting the better of me this evening about 6pm I took another look and I can see faint lines on both - I’m unsure if these are evap lines or not as they are full in colour (not colourless blocks) and don’t seem to look “grey”. I also did a clear blue test this afternoon which came back negative (no evap line has appeared on that one). TMI but I have had brown blood/discharge the past couple of days which has now gone and had some pale pink spotting when wiping only which has also gone and I am extremely bloated. I am around 10 DPO. Thank you Smile

You cant test after the stated time has lapsed. It will be evap lines

lilsquish · 14/04/2021 20:32

this happened to me in all 3 pregnancies.

First time i thought negative and binned it. OH fished it out the bin later and there was a v faint line (i was pregnant)

i was around 9/10 dpo on all 3 occasions too so def can happen.

are you a new member OP? if so you cant add pics until you've been around for a bit.

if ur not new, i think its ths paperclip to attach photos

Good luck, hope you get the result you want!

martinchar00 · 14/04/2021 20:45

@lilsquish thank you! This is my 3rd pregnancy, had implantation bleeding with my first and took a very long time to get a positive test back with DD, second pregnancy unfortunately I miscarried at 7 weeks! Will take another test first thing in the morning!

This is defo also how I first realised I was pregnant, test again with a first response with first morning wee x

martinchar00 · 14/04/2021 20:51

@EXA1912 I have heard about first response from looking into if anyone else has had this with pregnancy tests. Are first response a brand of pregnancy test or a type of test? Thank you

They’re a brand of pregnancy test, they come in a pink box. Can get them most pharmacies but they’ll detect hcg 6 where other tests are 20 x

martinchar00 · 14/04/2021 21:00

Lovely! Thank you, I will get one tomorrow! Thank you so much!

I have had a blue line appear on a clear test after the specified time to check and I am unsure if positive how do I upload a photo to show?

MissMaple82 · 25/04/2021 17:36

Any update

martinchar00 · 10/05/2021 10:16

Hi ladies! Just a quick update went to doctors and got a positive test but due to miscarrying before I had to go to the hospital which all tests came back negative. Doctor felt a lump in my stomach and still haven’t had a period so I’m awaiting an ultrasound to see what is going on!

Thinking of you, hope all is ok. Let us know how you get on. X

martinchar00 · 30/11/2021 18:46

Such a late update! All blood tests I had at hospital were negative but here I am 33 weeks pregnant now! Due to be induced 27th December! Turns out all the negative test results from hospital etc were false negatives and was due to low HCG which I had with DD in my first pregnancy!

@martinchar00 Glad that things turned out positively for u op! Despite all those confusions in the early stage. Anyway, if u dont mind me asking how did u finally find out that you are actually really pregnant? So, it is really true that some women will have negative test in their pregnancy. Living testament!Shock

martinchar00 · 01/12/2021 10:19

@ttcmom I eventually got positive tests (I believe two weeks after having blood tests come back negative)! Yes, apparently it's more common than you would think too!

OP posts:
ttcmom · 01/12/2021 10:28

How many weeks were you when you finally got the positive test op?Shock

martinchar00 · 01/12/2021 13:43

@ttcmom around 9/10 weeks pregnant!

Interesting much! Shock wonder if my situation is similar to yours but most probably nopeConfused
Sharing my story here if you dont mind opWink

i once got clear positives on cd 5, tested because felt different those few days. Then when i tested again the day after next, it was all bfn. Roughly 4-5 days after, i went to a private clinic to seek for some lights honestly afraid what if it's something sinister @ ectopic (touch wood) the gp saw my uterus lining was thick and there might be some activity takin place there but he's not so sure about pregnancy too. And no sign of ep while at the scan. Was wondering if i had chemical pregnancy, the uterus lining supposedly thin?Hmm My gp ask me to come back in two weeks for rescan. Not sure if this just coincides with the current concern but i noticed that some of my clothes suddenly get too tight and some which i cant fit in anymore. Confused was taking random pt too but all came back negative... thus I conclude that it was just all in my mind, and patiently waiting for my opk to be positive in a day/two since i am currently in my fertile week. If the opk is +ve @ it indicates that i am ovulating as usual so the thick lining didnt mean a thing and it is indeed another cycle going on! Grin

ttcmom · 01/12/2021 14:10

Sorry for the sudden long reply opGrin i just needed to share it out in case there is similar experience by others, and would love to hear different outcomes of this. Halo

martinchar00 · 01/12/2021 15:08

@ttcmom I was seriously bloated and didn't feel right, I pushed GP for urines tests and blood tests - have you had any blood tests done to test for HCG?
Seems very unusual to get so many positive tests (especially being so clear results)!
