Low PappA level

Hi all
I'm 15 weeks pregnant. Today I got a letter saying my PappA levels are low 0.41 - I feel really worried. NT measurement was 2.0 - low risk for screening on that letter.

It's saying to take 150mg of aspirin - ? If I should as I have post partum haemorrhage with my first....

Also, hospital have really messed my dates up!

1st scan I thought I was 12+3 she measured said 12+1. This wasn't in line with scans I had 7 weeks and 9 weeks for bleeding. Baby was moving a lot so she said it wasn't an accurate measurement.

I then went back at 13+1 (according to her measurements) for another scan for screening. Baby was now above average for measurement on the chart - he said dates a bit out but we stick with same gestation for now?

From what I read about PappA levels babies are smaller? I'm worried my level was taken after 14 weeks would this effect it?

Sorry if this makes no sense! Just so confused x

I’m not sure about a lot of your questions but one thing that might make you feel better about the papp-a itself is that 0.41 isn’t actually that low. I believe some hospitals only class under 0.4 as low, whereas some class under 0.5 as low x

At my hospital they class anything under 0.41 as low so you’d be ok. My understanding is that it doesn’t become a problem until much later anyway so I wouldn’t worry about the dates - I imagine it’s just slightly inaccurate. Also, low Papp-A is also nothing to worry about at all- you’ll get extra scans though Smile. My Papp-a was low too.

It's not that all babies are smaller - there's just a higher chance that they will be. I'm 31 weeks and have low PAPP-A (I think mine was lower than yours, around 0.25, I believe) but my baby and bump are measuring larger than average. The midwife wasn't surprised by that so it's not unusual for the low level to not appear to have any effect. It's good to have the extra scans as the 20-week scan seems a long time ago.

Just quick update - baby boy arrived 37+4 growth slowed and low amniotic fluid. He was still 6lb 8oz tho. Was good we were closely monitored with growth scans.
