I've heard so many conflicting stories, but does anyone actually know, can I have my hi-lights done now I'm pregnant? They were booked in before I got in this delicate condition .
I'm currently 6+4.
TIA

I think youre supposed to wait until after the first 3 months because all of the babys organs developing. Speak to your salon I personally wouldnt risk it at this stage (I dyed my hair red a few months before I got pregnant then had to spend my pregnancy with the bottom half of my hair a manky ginger colour!) Congrats on your news

I read on (I think) the NHS direct website that highlights are fine as they dont actually absorb ito your scalp as the dye is normally out in up to the roots rather than on the scalp. Personally I have been getting mine done as I am vain and dont want to be seen out with my roots showing . I did the same with last baby and no problems. Admittedly I have cut down the frequency but thats mostly to save money.

nothing wrong with it at all in my opinion. My salon said that hi lights are totally fine, it's full colour dye that's the problem. Go and enjoy, you'll feel better when yuo look your best x

I had a discussion on this and also concluded it is probably safe as foils do not touch your scalp and so nothing can be absorbed.
