When do you get the date for you section? Is it quite last minute or well in advance? I'll of course ask my consultant next time i see her but just curious.

I didn’t get my actual date till I was 36weeks at the consultant appt I had then, but I knew it would be around 39weeks. This time (all being well I’m only 4 weeks) I know they’ll be doing it more like 37-38 weeks but still probs won’t get the date till 36weeks x

Also be prepared for it to change if they have lots of emergencies in....I’ve heard some people can go in ready for their elective but get sent home because there’s someone else in need of it more x

I've been told I'll get a date at 36 weeks and it'll be for the 39th week. Echo what PP said about being bunped for emergency sections coming in.

I got a date at 36 weeks for 39×4. Ended up being called in early as they had space, so had her at 39+2. I was so relieved!

Thanks ladies 🙂 it will be interesting to see if mine gets bumped for emergencies coming in. It will literally decide whether I'm having an August or September baby! X

May depend on your trust. Mine was scheduled at 34 weeks for 39+1.

Was booked in as the second of the day (10am). When I arrived, the first lady had already gone into natural labour so I was bumped up. Being bumped works both ways thankfully.

I had elcs last time as the lower of our twins turned breech between my 32 & 36 weeks checkups. I was given the option of 3 or 9 days for my cs, I went with 9 as dh was in a cast with broken leg (had it off day after birth). This time if I opt for ercs I will be given a date at my 36 week consultant appointment, torn between vbac and ercs atm but still loads of time to decide (22wk atm).

I've been told I won't get a date until I'm 38 weeks!

I was given the date at my 16 week appointment but it did change two weeks before because there had been a booking error, so I went from 39 week to 39+4.
