Christmas babies

Hi mumsnetters,

I’m very early, only 4+2 so have my everything crossed that this works out.....

If it does, the due date will be about the 22nd Dec! We fell pregnant on the first month of trying and given I am older with PCOS it was very unexpected.

Anyone else due around the same time? How do you feel about a Christmas baby? I’m hoping it either comes a little early or a little late and misses the two weeks over Christmas- both my partner and I are 12 hour shift workers and have to work every other Christmas so would miss its birthday every other year!

Anyone sitting with their legs crossed with me?

I'm 4 weeks today, nhs calculator says due 21st but Tommy's says 23rd so I'm anywhere in between. After 3 previous miscarriages I'm just grateful that I've been given another chance! The idea of a Christmas baby never appealed to me but the more I think of it the more I love it, just makes Christmas that bit more special

Babyjune21 · 13/04/2021 13:35

Just thought I’d pop on and say congrats ! I’m due in June but I’m sure you will be all well ! Sending you positive vibes x

NatMoz · 13/04/2021 13:40

I'm due 12th December but they say first babies are usually late!

At least that's when we suspect I'm due, could be later as I had a miscarriage and fell pregnant immediately.

Praying I don't have another miscarriage like last time. I would rather have a happy, healthy baby even if born on 25/12!

Just got my bfp today! Going by the date of last period I'd be due on Christmas day, but going by when I ovulated I hope it will be somewhere around 21st. It took us over two years without a glimmer of hope, I started the journey really not wanting a Christmas baby but now so long as it's healthy and stays put for the next 8 months I couldn't care less Grin It's funny because I've always thought it would be awful to have a Christmas baby but now I don't mind too much (so long as it's not actually Christmas Day!!) At least everyone will be in a good mood and in the party spirit! My other two are January and February and I find those are always the months when everyone's really miserable! Congratulations on your bfp x

Congratulations, I am due the 21st, I'm 4 weeks today. My son was born the 28th of December Smile though I'm normally induced 2/3 weeks before due date.

Amibaking · 13/04/2021 14:21

So great to read from others due at the same time!

Have you told anyone yet?

Only my husband and my sister know, we wont be telling anyone else for a while,it's our 6th! Though we both work full time and none of our family help with childcare etc, I'm sure my mil will have something to say about it, even though she only sees the kids once a month on average, pre covid and lives 10 mins away.

TreeRoad · 13/04/2021 15:15

I'm due December 7th, I'm 6 weeks today.

To be honest I don't care at all about the birth being close to Christmas.
It can be born on Christmas Day if it wants (although that'd put me 19 days overdue so maybe not 😂).

I've seen people even feeling guilty their baby will be born in December. I don't see it like that at all, just glad to be in this position. 👏🏼

worrybug93 · 13/04/2021 15:17

@Amibaking I've only told my partner and my best friend. After 3 early losses I just can't bring myself to tell anyone else yet but hopefully this time I can tell my family with a scan picture

jdr1234 · 13/04/2021 19:58

I’m pg due 1st December but my bday is 18th December and although as a child found it a bit annoying now I love it as everyone is in a really festive party mood and the atmosphere everywhere is great. My son is end January and that is a bit miserable as weather crap, he’s had the things he really wanted for Xmas and everyone broke!

allycat4 · 13/04/2021 19:59

Christmas is a lovely time to have a babySmile

ClearButtons · 13/04/2021 20:50

I have recently found out I am pg too, due around Dec 19th. So quite close to Xmas day!! I am not worrying about it - Christmas is a joyful time and people are usually wanting to do activities around the period so think it will be a fun time. There is also a chance that I may get to celebrate Christmas Day with a few prosceccos Grin Il

Sadie95 · 13/04/2021 21:06

Hey! I got my BFP today, due 23rd December! Hoping this baby sticks ❤️

Clarysjb · 13/04/2021 23:04

Not pg (cd 38 so if I was due date is December 13th (my birthday!!!) but rest assured I love my December birthday and so do all my friends. It’s a fabulous time to have a birthday as everyone is in a great mood and wants to dress up and have fun. Even when I was a kid and teenager there was always something to do as big movies always get released at this time or there are Christmas markets, ice skating, seeing Santa and as an adult we all love to go clubbing and my favourite part of my birthday every year is hearing fairytale of nee York at the end of the night! My brother was born 6 days before my 3rd birthday and we love our December birthdays!!

Teacaketotty · 13/04/2021 23:47

Congratulations! As someone who had a premature baby - please don’t wish an early delivery. I don’t know many people who’s baby came on their due date.

Amibaking · 14/04/2021 10:14

@clarysjb @jdr1234 really great to hear you have enjoyed having a Christmas birthday. Thank you!

Has anyone got an early scan booked or referred to the midwives yet?

jdr1234 · 14/04/2021 10:20

I’ve got an early scan tomorrow. By my dates will be 7+1 and midwife in 2 weeks.

worrybug93 · 14/04/2021 10:46

I've got a scan booked for when I'll be 7 weeks because of my previous miscarriages

TreeRoad · 14/04/2021 11:30

Early scan is this evening. I'm only 6+1 so really nervous!
