Hey, I'm only about 5'2ft and a size 6/8 in clothes and I hardly have a bump yet. I see a lot of people with bumps at the point and I'm just concerned. However it is my first pregnancy but I read if you have a slimmer built body and are quite small you should be showing 🤔🤔🤔🤔

The baby doesn’t reach the height of your belly button till about 20 weeks so not having a bump now is totally normal. Both of my pregnancies as a size 14, I stayed in my normal jeans until my 20 weeks scan. Both babies were healthy weights.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 13/04/2021 11:15

Don’t worry-worry my first I didn’t ever get to wear maternity clothes my bump was so small-just looked like I’d had a massive Sunday dinner🤣
It makes professionals a bit worried and I was scanned within an inch of my life but all was well in the end.

pumpkinpie01 · 13/04/2021 11:17

Perfectly normal, I only had a vague bump at 19 weeks with my 4th

Chanel05 · 13/04/2021 11:18

This is very normal! I didn't have much of a bump until 23 weeks! However, I then began to grow a massive bump, which made me sweat like crazy in August last year when I was 36 weeks pregnant 🥵.

Tallybeebloom · 13/04/2021 11:21

I'm 16 and a half weeks and barely have a bump, but have gone from a size 8 to a 12 do have put weight on all over. I went for a scan at the weekend because I was worried and people kept commenting on how I don't look pregnant at all, everything was fine. Some people just don't show as much.

sunshine650 · 13/04/2021 11:21

Thank you lady's!! I have been worrying myself!! X

It's pretty normal. I'm a size 10 with a long torso & reasonable abdominal muscles & didn't get a bump with any of my (5) dc until after 25 weeks. I didn't show as obviously pregnant rather than just a bit tubby with dc1 until around 32 weeks.

TwinnyMummy321 · 13/04/2021 11:25

I had no sign of a bump until 18 weeks - and I was having twins! I am slightly bigger than you but not much. Funnily enough my mum tells me that she never did look pregnant with me or my brother. She just wore her normal clothes pretty much right until she had us! Must be the way we carry them.

Mumof1andacat · 13/04/2021 11:26

I was in a size 10 until nearly 20 weeks. I then went in to some maternity styles but even at 42 weeks pregnant (yeah I know!) I walked in to the hospital in a size 12 non maternity style coat. We are all different x

Okbutnotgreat · 13/04/2021 12:41

With my first I was 25 weeks before I showed, my second it was obvious by 12Smile.

8dpwoah · 13/04/2021 12:51

Totally normal, I had people at work that hadn't clocked it even at 20 weeks with my first and I was a fairly petite size 10 with a short torso....however with this one I am coming up 14 weeks and the maternity trousers are out already 😂 my abs have given up the battle I think after all their hard work holding it in last time!

TheGlitterFairy · 13/04/2021 13:27

All normal. Size 14 and 5’8” here - 25 weeks and I only moved to maternity jeans last weekend. Bump was visible from about 20/21 weeks but took a while!

Sprockerdilerock · 13/04/2021 14:59

I'm 5ft 3 and only just starting to look a bit pregnant now at 21 weeks and only in certain outfits. I was terrified before my 20 week scan (which I wore my normal size 10 jeans to!) that something was wrong as everyone else seemed so much bigger than me but all is fine. Everyone is different!

Moorelewis · 13/04/2021 17:46

I'm 5 foot 1 and was a size 10 pre pregnancy. I didn't show until after 30 weeks with both pregnancies!

Peacefulspirit · 13/04/2021 18:05

I wish I could say the same! I’m nearly 15 weeks and look about 30 weeks. I’ve put on so much weight 😭 5th baby but even still I have been so ridiculous with my eating.

Edelweiss2020 · 13/04/2021 18:14

I didn't get a noticeable bump until about 23/24 weeks and even now at 32 weeks it's smaller than 'average' looking but is measuring consistently bang on 50th centile on the growth charts so no worries from anyone important!

Willowfalls · 13/04/2021 21:31

I’m 34 weeks with my first & only started showing properly from 30 weeks. Xx

WeekendCEO · 13/04/2021 21:37

With my first I only got a bump at about 22weeks but even then it wasn’t that obvious. I think its normal if you’re quite toned and exercise. I was massive by about 34 weeks. 😬 With my second there was no hiding it from about 16 weeks but my bump wasn’t actually as big at term as in my first pregnancy.

Becciboo1985 · 13/04/2021 22:25

I didn't have a bump until two weeks ago and now it's massive (24 weeks)!

BrilliantBetty · 13/04/2021 22:29

Normal.

I didn't tell anyone until 20 weeks with baby1 or 2.. and no one had guessed. Just a small, easily concealed bump.
I was glad not to have a huge bump, plenty of time for that towards the end.

Also a size 8. At the time, more of a 10 now, baby 2 is 1yo.

Namechangegardens · 14/04/2021 07:25

I'm 19 weeks and only really starting to get a bump over the last 2 weeks. I thought I had one at your stage but I now realise that was probably bloating, as the bump now feels form so it's definitely uterus!
Good luck x

Namechangegardens · 14/04/2021 07:25

Firm not form
