Hi 😊
My first time posting on here, I am currently 7 months pregnant and VERY anxious. I suffered with intrusive thoughts in my first pregnancy several years ago and up until around 1 month ago was really enjoying this pregnancy. However the intrusive thoughts have started to rear their ugly head again and are just making each day horrendous and I imagine I’m not that fun to live with right now.

After my first pregnancy, I started sertraline which gave me the worse insomnia and intensified the anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I then tried cbt, which did help a little. So I have already began private counselling in a bid to get things under control.

Guess I’m just looking for someone to tell me, I’m not the only one and it does get better xx

Hey I just wanted to say I’m the same, severe anxiety, currently having cbt but doesn’t seem to be helping me much and was prescribed sertraline but I didn’t like the side effects. I’m hoping it gets easier too sorry I’m not out the other side so can’t say it does xxx

Gosh you are anything but alone with this. Not that it makes it easier when you're in the moment. Speak to your midwife ASAP about this, since it is your second pregnancy and you had similar before they should start with perinatal psychologists and psychiatrists to make sure the support is ready as soon as you need it this time.

So sorry to hear you are going through this too! Although I’ve heard lots of people say how sertraline helped them, I was the same as you with the side effects x How long have you been having the cbt for if you don’t mind me asking? I’m hoping the counselling begins to help xx
