If you had a tear...

Hi

I had an episiotomy and a 2nd degree tear to the internal part of my vagina. The episiotomy has healed beautifully but there’s a little bit of tissue that didn’t get stitched into the vagina stitches. I’ve just had my 8 week check today and she says the rest healed wonderfully and I can have this little ‘skin tag’ removed or I can keep it there.

Did anyone need to have further surgery/adjustments after their initial stitching and healing? It’s cosmetic rather than painful though it could get irritated in the future.

I had a bit of granulated tissue burned off with silver nitrate as it was getting irritated and sore. No more problems after that

Thanks @dementedpixie. They think it would be a local anaesthetic and a quick stitch rather than silver nitrate. Just trying to weigh up if it’s worth getting it done now to get it over with.

I'd maybe get it sorted just now so it doesn't have a chance to cause issues later

Hey, I also had a 2nd degree tear and it healed on its own. I would go for it if it's just a super quick thing? Might as well, so there are no issues in the future.
