I'm just looking for some positive induced birth stories. During my first pregnancy I was given a very early due date at my first scan and I questioned it as it didn't match up to my dates (it was a planned and long awaited pregnancy) but they said it was right so I trusted them. My due date passed by and I got to 11 days "overdue" and I was told I would need to be induced. I explained my concerns that I thought my original due date was wrong but the consultant wasn't very understanding and said it was non-negotiable. I was stressed, pressured, not understood and I hesitantly agreed to be induced. Labour started and it was 16 hours of hell. All a blur really but I felt scared, out of control and it was completely chaotic. In the end the midwife said baby isn't ready for this so they offered a forcep delivery as my only other option. I was cut twice and they yanked him out with quite a force. I was left with very painful injuries, stitches that kept pulling and bleeding, completely incontinent and my poor beautiful baby was bruised and cut all over his head. Mentally I was traumatised and I was kept in hospital for a week. It took me a long time to recover. Second birth was the polar opposite, I went into labour naturally and I delivered without any pain relief within an hour in fact I still had my coat on as I delivered 5 minutes after I arrived at the hospital! I went home on the same day with no problems. I'm now 36 weeks pregnant with my third and I've just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I have been told I'll have consultant led care and I'll need to be induced on my due date if not before depending on how well I can control my diabetes. I'm petrified and I'm gutted I won't get the natural birth I hoped for. I'm scared of being induced as it went so horribly wrong last time. I'm just reaching out for some advice and some positive experiences so I can rest my anxieties abit. Anyone who has been in the same situation as me, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you for reading!
