I'm 38 weeks. Have had a cold and cough for 3 weeks. Still snotty but it's thick and not easy to blow nose. I have a horrid hacking cough. Blowing my nose and coughing is making me vomit - I've been pretty sicky all pregnancy. No temp or any other symptoms. Not covid. But still feeling pretty miserable.

Any tips for what I can take to shift this?

Have you tried steaming with vick? That’s awful now I feel sorry for you! I always find steaming to be great. If you can’t handle the towel over the bowl way turning the shower on full heat and closing the door then going into the bathroom is another way that helps as the place is so full of steam, works great with babies too!!!

I can’t offer any advice but I sympathise. I had something similar at the end of my second pregnancy and I coughed so much I thought I had broken a rib, it was so painful and awful. The midwifes couldn’t do anything apart from say take paracetamol. I think you just get very run down in pregnancy and your immune system suffers. Just rest as much as possible and I hope it goes away soon.

Thank you both for the sympathy! I am feeling really rather sorry for myself. Have sent the rest of the family out for a walk while I lay on the sofa under a blanket.
Will try the steaming (with supervision). It's really wiped me out. Have been napping twice a day!

Oh, you poor thing, it's awful. I am 7 months and have the same thing. As soon as I get up I blow my nose then cough for about 30 minutes with numerous bouts of vomiting. Then, fine for the rest of the day. Really thick mucus, and not wanting to go into to tmi, but a pretty full stomach of the stuff by what happens. Doctor says post nasal drip....yuck ! I just get the cough and vomit over and then drink lemon and ginger tea. One tip, don't try and not vomit if you need to. I feel awful for the rest of the did if I don't. Hope you soon feel better babe x

No advice, but lots of sympathy! I was horrendously sick especially towards the end of my pregnancy. Rest lots!
