Bleeding - 5 weeks + days

Hi all, wondering if anyone has been or is going through this.....I'm currently 5 weeks and I think 3 days pregnant and started experiencing bleeding yesterday afternoon that was bright red.
I maybe filled 3/4 of a medium sized pad along with whatever come out when I went to the toilet (maybe filling one pad including all blood loss).
This lasted maybe an hour and then stopped.

I went to A&E, had bloods etc.....ECG too as my heart was pounding, 136 bpm!🤦🏻‍♀️
Got sent home as bloods hadnt come back got a call to go back for more bloods this morning as they didn't test for the pregnancy hormones the first time cos apparently they're all divs! Got new bloods and it come back that the hormones were still very high, like high enough they're not bothering with another blood test to see if it drops. I'm a bit crampy, but then I think I've been crampy since my last period started and it's not really eased but it feels a bit more uncomfortable now.
Would my HCG levels drop in my blood within 16 ish hours if I'm miscarrying?
The midwife on the phone didn't sound too worried but then I guess they wouldn't want you panicking🤷🏻‍♀️

Have a scan on Thursday when I'll be 6 weeks so should know more then. Just looking for a bit of reassurance😩 but really not got much hope if I'm honest.
Expect the worst, anything else is a bonus!

Sorry you're going through this. If it's any comfort, I know a lot of women who have experienced bleeding during early pregnancy and all been fine, myself Included.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's implantation bleeding. Sometimes it can cause a haematoma which can then cause bleeding but doesn't effect the baby or pregnancy.
I know it's impossible but try not to worry, it's reassuring that the bleeding has stopped! Maybe see if you can book a private scan in the mean time to put your mind at rest?
Fingers crossed all is ok xxx

Such a worry for you, this happened to me in both of my pregnancies and I'm sure I read the whole internet looking for answers.

Both of my pregnancies were successful, and I bled 5 weeks - 12 weeks. Of course there are plenty of stories that go the other way, but I thought you might like to hear some positive ones.

@ker89 oh I've never heard of that before? Gonna get straight to researching that😅
My little girl is due to start playschool this week so it's a bit of a manic time and me going back to work too so doubt I'd have a chance to even get a scan before Thursday :(

@ohthejoysoftoddler that's pretty much all I've done, look up every scenario, my partner keeps moaning at me for it but it's the only thing that's keeping me sane atm!

It's nice to hear some positive that had come from the same situation tho. I really appreciate it! 🤞🏻

I bled with all my pregnancies both successful and unsuccessful ones. It can go both ways. Hope you get a positive outcome

@EmaLou72 I had one with this pregnancy! Red spotting at 5-6 weeks and again at 9. I never knew it was a thing but I've been told they are more common than you think!
Ow that's a shame, I know the waiting is torture!! X

EmaLou72 · 10/04/2021 21:55

@parsnipsnotsprouts sorry to hear that! It most definitely can go one of two ways. The unknown is horrible!

@ker89 oh wow that's crazy. Hope everything's ok for you now😊
I thought the 2 week wait to know if I was pregnant was bad enough.....this.....this is another scale🤯
