Hi everyone, didn’t think I’d be back on one of these sites! Just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant and in complete shock as was due to be sterilised in two weeks..

We have an almost 10 year old who for the last week (since we found out) has been extra clingy to the point of not even playing his ps5 lol. He literally is attached to my hip constantly. He doesn’t know yet as it’s still really early days but 2 nights ago when I tucked him into bed he just randomly came out with “I can’t wait to have a baby sister” he’s never asked for a sibling!!
Is it just a Coincidence or can kids sense these things.

Thanks x

He has obviously over heard a conversation or something. No child would be that intuitive.

If I thought he had overheard conversations (which there hasn’t actually been) then I wouldn’t have posted. Oh how things have changed in a decade Hmm

Weirdly my son has been more cuddly with me, he’s normally a daddy’s boy! He has no idea x

I think sometimes children and pets can sense something different even if they aren’t fully aware of what’s going on. Maybe it was something you needed to hear to reassure you seeing as it was a shock. Either way it’s a nice thing to know they are happy at the idea of a sibling! :-)

My DD started asking for a sibling in the year that DH and I were TTC. It broke my heart completely because it just wasn’t happening. When we did finally conceive and told her, she cried and said she’d changed her mind. DD2 is 6mo now and DD1 adores her.

Congrats!

Not sure, in my experience I told my 3yo he was going to have a baby sister, and had no idea how much was going in - I would say it, and he would ignore me and show me one of his toy cars, etc. But nursery said he was talking endlessly about it, so clearly he was listening!

My child coincidentally mentioned a baby when there had been no talk or conversation about it my pregnancy so I do believe they have some kind of strong intuition x
