Has anyone used one?

I had a lot of problems BFing DS - mastitis, low supply, etc - and I'm considering partially feeding DC2 but also using donor milk.

None of my friends/family have done it so looking for anyone who's had experience?

Slightly different situation but my twins were born at 29 weeks and my milk supply wasn’t that great so the hospital used donor milk for my girls for a while. I think you can overthink it but I had absolutely no problem with it and was super grateful I was offered it! X

Thanks @HayB! That's great they were able to have breast milk in the hospital. Think I will have to go private if I want to do it but I like the idea of being able to give breast milk but take a bit of the pressure off.

If you donate the hospital you have had various health checks and they pasteurise it. Plus they are very clear on hygiene and how your store it and when you take it to their special deep freezers etc.

What assurances do you get with private donation?

Your baby will still benefit loads from your milk and mixed feeding. Also hopefully things will be easier next time around!

Try not to get hung up on breast milk only being the be all and end all and creating more pressure on yourself etc.

Thanks
