Movement with anterior placenta

Hi. I have anterior placenta and Last week I felt the first strong ‘bump’ kicks where you can feel them on the outside over two days. Around 21+4\21+5. Since then she seems to have gone quiet again. The kicks and movement I’m feeling are few and far between and have to concentrate to feel them. The kicks have now gone back to the sort of internal ‘pops’. I do feel her at least once or twice a day but like I said it’s subtle and only when I have time to sit down and really concentrate, which obviously I can’t do all the time.

For those ladies who have been there before is this normal for anterior placenta? To have strong kicks followed by the subtle pops?

I have only just started to feel her move so I’m not expecting to feel her all the time yet. I’m just longing for those bump kicks again!! X

Hi, I'm 21 weeks and have an anterior placenta. I felt pops and small kicks at 18 weeks and they've gotten stronger.

I don't feel many strong kicks, like you they seem to be few and far between but lots of pops.

If you aren't sure or feel worried I would go in and get checked. Better to be safe.

I find having a fizzy drink gets my little one moving

I'm 22 weeks with an anterior placenta and only started feeling subtle movement in the last week or so. Felt movement yesterday but nothing so far today however my MW said it wasn't unusual at this stage to not feel movement every day. I'm still worrying though

I have my 1st anterior placenta, 6th baby 21+4wk. Earlier this week I felt her on the outside of my left side amd today just above belly button but those type of movement are not often. I feel her moving around a lot but they tend to be more internal, she seems to be awake every few hours.

Hi OP, I'm sorry you're having this stress too. I'm 27 weeks this weekend with an anterior and high placenta. I feel almost nothing - a couple of light pops every 2 to 3 days is it. I've had 3 scans in the last week and been in MAU for monitoring every 1 to 2 days fir the past 2 weeks. Baby is always extremely active and everyone is mystified about why I can't feel anything (best theory is its the AP combined with overstretching from my previous twin pregnancy together with the damage that was done during my Cat 1 EMCS). I've given up hope of finding a pattern now, just would be grateful for any sign that baby is OK in there without having to go in to hospital for a scan / CTG. I've been booked in for scans every 2 weeks now. Sorry to rant on, the only advice I have is keep getting checked out - the MAU are very happy to do it as often as necessary - it's what they're v there for!

Thanks for the replies. On the one hand I keep telling myself not to worry coz I only felt her move for the first time a few days ago. And she will be still very small and has to find a way to kick through the placenta. But on the other hand I felt such strong kicks I’m worried as to why I’m not feeling them since. The pops and bubbles are really few and far between but it is my first. It’s so confusing x

Kicks seam to be a bit more noticeable today although still pretty light. Think I’ll have to just focus on her and give her a few more weeks to get bigger/stronger and try to notice some sort of pattern. It’s very concerning when you just don’t know what is normal yet!! X

I was 28 weeks before I felt much movement. Second baby, second anterior placenta! First baby felt from 16 weeks. I think it all depends on the position of the placenta, not just being at the front, but high, mid, low etc.

I can anterior placenta with my first and could only really feel big movement occasionally on the far left side
