Hi sorry for this post, I'm new to this but I'm just looking for reassurance. I've had brown discharge as of yesterday afternoon and worrying so much. I was actually in hospital yesterday for Un related reasons when I was given the all clear to go home but then I started having brown bleeding/discharge? The doctors couldn't do a speculum as they thought I may have low lying placenta and being rhesus negative were worried. Am I miscarrying? They did a Doppler and found baby's heartbeat but I'm not really reassured. Absolutely not enjoying pregnancy because of all these worries. They told me to go back if it turns bright red or I'm in a lot of pain. Has anyone else had this, I have a picture but for some reason I can't post it! Thanks for any replies in advance

Try to relax, even though it's hard! You have already had health professionals check the heartbeat etc. You're doing all the right things.

Brown blood is definitely a better sign than bright red.

Spotting is common with a low lying placenta, a scan will confirm if you do have one. Brown blood is old blood so not usually a big concern, if it changes colour you should go back to be assessed.

Brown blood is old so considered to be fine, as long as doesn’t then bright red and you don’t fill a pad.
If your making yourself ill through worry then please ring your Maternity assessment unit at the hospital and go in and get checked.
This is what they are there for and will check everything is ok!
