Riding a motorcycle in early pregnancy + miscarriage

Hello ladies,

The information I find on the internet about riding a motorcycle while pregnant is very conflicting so wanted to see if anyone here had any experience?

I just had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and despite my midwife assuring me that it could not have been because I went for a ride a day earlier, I'm wondering wether that could have played a part. Midwife said that if the pregnancy was healthy in the first place, no motorcycle ride could change that. I really want to believe that as I don't want to give up riding - especially now that the season is just starting. I understand that when I get pregnant again, I won't be able to ride towards the end of the pregnancy, but I still would like to go out in the beginning not worrying.

Is anyone here also a a pregnant rider?

Thank you and have a lovely day

I’m so sorry you’ve experienced that loss 💐♥️

Your midwife is absolutely 100% correct. You didn’t do anything wrong and you can’t cause the miscarriage of a an embryo that’s destined to grow by going on your bike xxx

Condolences. Unfortunately early miscarriage is quite common and a bike ride is not going to have caused it.
You can continue riding but after the 1st trimester it is a lot higher risk for your baby as the uterus moves up out of the pelvis. Only you can decide when you think the risks are too high for your comfort, there is no set gestation to stop.

Hi so sorry. Miscarriage is one of those things, that just can't be helped. I look at it as the baby wasn't ready or healthy enough to process. As for blaming your bike ride, i carried on riding till 4 months. And im currently pregnant again and itching to get out on it. X

Thank you so much for your comments. It's reassuring to hear. Onwards and upwards with TTC and riding :)

The others are right. The main risk on a bike would be having an accident and falling off and that would only be risky later on when the baby and placenta is bigger. First trimester I'd ride away no problem.
