Guess the appointment purpose (light-hearted)

So the maternity app is great in many respects but I've had an appointment put into it today that I've no idea what for. Obviously I will get a letter but in the meantime anybody want a guessing game? Bunch of virtual Flowers for those that guess correctly when confirmed by my letter. Also Cake for amusing guesses.

Second baby, appointment is on cusp of 31/32 weeks, in the outpatients at the local small hospital. Not where I go for scans but I think they do have capacity for that at this hospital too. I've only got midwife booked in for 16 weeks so don't think it's her. Possibly on FGR pathway after first baby but haven't had the consultant appointment that would trigger that yet. Bloods and so on are done at the drop in clinic.

🤷‍♀️

Growth scan?

8dpwoah · 08/04/2021 13:01

I'm leaning that way although would be news that they can do them at the little hospital, would have loved to have had dating scan there rather than going to the bigger one that I've ended up having to contact PALS about already!
The only other thing I can think it might be would be a random glucose tolerance test but seems unlikely they'd book that nearly 20 weeks ahead!
Oh to be a FTM again where I didn't have any expectations, or knowledge to attempt to second guess the system 😂

Can’t you ring up and ask? X

8dpwoah · 08/04/2021 14:07

I've had to be a pain on the phone already to get them to sort out the massive cock-up they made with my dating scan so I'm going to sit on my hands on this one as it's a long way off yet. Hopefully postie will bring me an appointment letter before too long!

@8dpwoah does it not say where it is or who with? I had that happen to me, but it said consultant review x

8dpwoah · 08/04/2021 14:27

Nope, just the date, time, and that it's at outpatients at the little hospital. I shouldn't be moaning really as I'm sure it's for a good reason but after the mess they made this time of my dating scan appointment (and the letter I got afterwards that made so little sense that I had to ring them up to unscramble it) I'm probably being a bit picky 😂

I’d ring and ask no matter how much of a pain it made me x

popcorndiva · 08/04/2021 14:31

Could be appointment with anaesthetist. I have one around 31/32 weeks otherwise injections or diabetes test

AnxiousAnnie86 · 08/04/2021 16:58

@8dpwoah yeah I'd call them too!! Could it be an anti d injection? I've got that on my appointment list but it says anti D! Just give them a call and ask! You aren't a pain for asking

8dpwoah · 08/04/2021 17:35

Not anti D as I'm a mildly unusual B+ (amused me they had to test that again in case it had changed since last time 😂)
I'll get chance to ask the midwife in a couple of weeks if I don't get a letter beforehand so the mystery will be solved eventually, just wish they'd added something to the box that says "reason" on the app 🙄

@8dpwoah I just looked at mine actually! And they all have a reason next to app, apart from my consultant appointment, that just had doc name and location that's all! So it could be an initial consultant review x

8dpwoah · 08/04/2021 18:13

Oh maybe it's that then...would make sense as the little hospital doesn't seem to do much for maternity other than bloods and give the midwives a place to meet people, have to go to the medium hospital for scans and triage etc and then the big hospital for the actual birth. Would make sense as well as I guess a consultant has a different secretary so they may fill their diaries way in advance.
The plot thickens!

Flowers for worrisome as it is indeed a growth scan! The little hospital has had an upgrade!

Answers the Q about whether I'm actually on the FGR pathway as well, I'd better go and get my aspirin. The info I have (copied her hospital notes!) says that DD wasn't small enough to trigger it but the hospital computer says that she was 🤷‍♀️ oh well, I won't ever complain about having more monitoring so it's reassuring really.
