@Vemjs I am feeling exactly the same. I have occasional waves but nothing over the last few days. My scan is 2nd too and I should be 8 weeks. It's going to be a long 2 weeks! Once I've had this scan we are telling the parents so I feel like this is the longest stretch then after that hopefully time goes a little quicker.

lettyloulou · 16/04/2021 12:19

I've booked an early scan for 9th May when I'll be 8 weeks exactly. None of this seems real! I'm hoping it will do after seeing the scan ☺️

2021DecemberDueDate · 16/04/2021 12:19

Thanks for the dating advice @Emmgrem @May2311 Calculator is saying somewhere between 6 wks 4 days and 5 weeks 2 days...Clear Blue is saying 2-3 weeks.

Getting so anxious about the lack of symptoms. Self referred to the midwife (GP just said they wouldn't see me and to fill in the form) and got an auto reply saying I should hear from them 'sometime in the next 3 weeks' Shock So I guess that just means sitting tight...

Babycakes39 · 16/04/2021 12:35

@wannabemum38 oh that's a late one! I was lucky mine was 8:30 this morning! I'll be thinking of you! Xx

wannabemum38 · 16/04/2021 12:39

@Babycakes39 I know so late. Thank you x

climbershell · 16/04/2021 12:48

@2021DecemberDueDate clear blue saying 2-3 weeks, means 4-5 weeks baby, so I'm guessing you're closer to 5 weeks not 6

2021DecemberDueDate · 16/04/2021 13:02

Thanks @climbershell That makes sense, although sounds like my Clear Digital HCG reading is on the lower side. Just worry that plus lack of symptoms might mean it won't work out but nothing I can do really but wait Sad

TakeYourFinalPosition · 16/04/2021 15:00

Are you dating from your LMP @2021DecemberDueDate?

I got 2-3 weeks on a Clearblue on Tuesday - from my LMP I'm 5+3 today, but from 4+4 from ovulation, as I ovulated a few days late this month.

I've got basically no symptoms too. I'm tired today but other than that, no nausea, boobs are fine...

I had the same response from my GP referral, too, but they got back to me yesterday with two dates for booking in. They're using the LMP dates but have told me to expect to be measuring small then, as I know when I ovulated, so it'll all be rejigged after the 12 week scan.

It's a weird time, I don't love all the waiting!

I hope that might provide some comfort Flowers

TreeRoad · 16/04/2021 15:15

So I had my initial midwife appointment.

It was just a 10 minute chat where she asked about my pregnancy history, height, weight, job, medical history (mental and physical) and told me to think about whether I'd like testing for Down's Syndrome.

Apparently you need to tell them at the booking appointment whether you'd like this testing so maybe something for us all to think about, so nobody is caught out or surprised by the question.

I'll get a letter with my booking appointment details in the coming days, she said.

We went a bit mad and ordered our changing station, it's just arrived so I'm avoiding building it. 😂

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim · 16/04/2021 15:44

@TakeYourFinalPosition I'm the same RE dates. 8+6 today according to last period so the midwife is using that for now but think I'm actually 7+0 so there's potentially almost two weeks difference.

My 12 week scan is booked for when I think I'll be 10+3 so am expecting my dates will probably get moved then.

Sarahmummy1989 · 16/04/2021 16:20

Hi can I join as well.
I'm 6+ 3 and feel dreadful. Due date 7th December. Suffered MC in September 2020 with no symptoms And this feels completely different. Feel sick all day everyday and nothing helps. This will hopefully be my second child. But I didn't even find out I was pregnant until I was 13 weeks with my first. So very worried as never done this stage before.

Lindzers83 · 16/04/2021 16:22

Hi ladies have been watching on the sidelines as I'm a nervous geriatric first time mum. I'm 6 weeks +2 and other than feeling tired have had no symptoms. For the last 24hrs I've had pain in one side and the doc referred me for an early scan. All is well and the midwife thinks the pain was due to a double ovulation so could have been twins Confused

Cumspe · 16/04/2021 16:28

Hi,

Finally decided to join in after reading from the sidelines for months. Got my BFP last week after ttc for over a year and starting fertility tests typical!!! This is my first and I still can’t believe it. Having to stop myself from repeatedly testing though I couldn’t resist using one of my LH tests yesterday just to see if it does work and it was a dye stealer!!

If my numbers are right i am due 14 Dec and 5+3 weeks. Not really having any symptoms which is making me worry a little. Need to share the whole load of crazy the BFP has unleashed and save DPs sanity

Florarenniemackintosh · 16/04/2021 16:58

Hey everyone!

I also was in the previous thread briefly !

@TakeYourFinalPosition
@2021DecemberDueDate

I just wanted to jump in to comment on what you were both saying about symptoms / lack of. I read that morning sickness is hereditary. So for example I am suffering with endless nausea- as did my mum. Meanwhile my friend - I'll call her Wynn- had 0 morning sickness, neither did her mum, her sisters or her aunties! But they have loads of healthy babies between them.

Plus one can have morning sickness, but it doesn't guarantee that the embyro is living. You can have morning sickness and then no heart beat at week 8.

In addition, the clear blue tests are fairly accurate, but there is an unscientific randomness about peeing on a stick and things such as hydrated/ dehydrated will have an influence, as well as how much you pee on it versus what misses etc.

I did ivf and at no point has a doctor recommended a pregnancy test, its 100% blood tests all the way because they are far more accurate in determining how much hcg you have.

This time between positive test and first scan is hard and daunting and there is scant little to go on! I wish you both health and wellness xx

Babycakes39 · 16/04/2021 17:04

@Florarenniemackintosh I've never heard that before. I just think every pregnancy is different. I've never had sickness in previous pregnancies but feel awful this time round. My sister had terrible sickness but my other sister had no sickness at all. Xx

amysaurus87 · 16/04/2021 17:18

@Florarenniemackintosh I've heard the same thing about morning sickness! My mum had none with me or my sisters, I had none with my little boy and 5 weeks in with this one and I'm still sickness free.

2021DecemberDueDate · 16/04/2021 17:19

Thanks you lovely bunch, you've made me feel a little better Flowers

@TakeYourFinalPosition yes dating from LMP 28th Feb. The waiting is so hard isn't it. Glad to hear someone else is symptom-less so far.

@Florarenniemackintosh ooh that's interesting, although basically no subtle way of asking my mum! Planning on waiting to tell family as it would be nice to tell them in person.

It would just be good to have some kind of confirmation beyond a positive test. Will keep everything crossed for myself and all of you too x

2021DecemberDueDate · 16/04/2021 17:22

Also some interesting vaccine news for us all today (on the BBC news homepage in case the link doesn't work)

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56778146

TreeRoad · 16/04/2021 17:30

Interesting about the Covid vaccine update.

Are you all going to get it?

TakeYourFinalPosition · 16/04/2021 17:46

Thanks @Florarenniemackintosh, that’s really interesting!

And thanks @2021DecemberDueDate... sadly I’ve had the first dose of AZ and had a “blood clot related” reaction to it, but I’ve been told I have to have the same vaccine as the second one as the trial of mixing vaccines hasn’t completed and they don’t know if it reduces effectiveness...

So I’m weighing up whether to have jab 2. It’s due in early May...

Vemjs · 16/04/2021 17:50

@TreeRoad so i actually had it a week before I ovulated and fell pregnant. I was offered one as an end of day spare so I took it thinking i wouldn't fall pregnant for ages yet so now I'm due my 2nd soon and was advised by the person that gave it to me to wait for some more research first Confused

Cumspe · 16/04/2021 17:52

Thanks for sharing @2021DecemberDueDate DP and I were discussing this yesterday as with things opening up I am a little nervous about meeting up with everyone and it’s too early to announce our news.

The update is helpful will discuss it with my GP but still in two minds at the minute

2021DecemberDueDate · 16/04/2021 18:10

I'm keen if they're saying it's safe. No underlying conditions, just general Corona-phobia. I've been stressing at the prospect of things opening up but not feeling able to participate - lots of weddings, hen dos, family and work things that I would feel unable to go to but bad about saying no and I would end up feeling quite isolated I think (I know the vaccine isn't a magic answer but it does help).

Em39ma · 16/04/2021 18:53

I have allergies so there’s no way they will give me the phizfer jab.
In my last pregnancy they ended up refusing to give me the flu jab, because I’m prone to reactions.

climbershell · 16/04/2021 19:00

There's no way I'll be getting the vaccine until I've given birth. I'm not vulnerable otherwise I most likely would. No matter what anyone says, no one actually knows how it effects the unborn baby. There is no way to know until studies are done, which likely won't be for a long while as many pregnant women will feel the same as me

I feel so rough today. Exhausted, dizzy, foggy head, tiny bit nauseous. I overdid it today I guess, wiped out! Also belly kinda gurgling and when I went to the toilet and had a tiny bit of brown spotting and I thought 'OMG what if I'm losing the baby!' and felt heart wrenching, even though likely nothing wrong!
