Self employed & pregnant

I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant, self employed and running a small business on my own with some help from my (also self employed) DH.

I’m starting to think seriously now about maternity leave & what to do with my business in the first few weeks after birth.

Any other self employed people here that can tell me what they did/what they would advise to do?

I want to continue working as much as possible but i’m thinking of taking some proper time off around when I’m due. Then going back to work maybe 1 day a week or during the evenings (if I can). My husband can take time off as he’s self employed so he will look after baby while I’m at work.

I guess I just have no real idea what I’m in for and don’t know anyone irl who has the same kind of job as me who has been through this.

Any advice or tips appreciated!

Yes, I run a business which will keep going once the baby is born. I am using the few weeks before baby is due to prepare and organise everything that I know will come up in the first few months and making sure everything is up-to-date so that payroll etc can be managed easily.

Otherwise, I'll have minimal day to day emails/calls to respond to and monthly tasks such as payroll etc.

It really depends how much you usually have to do to keep your business going?

Preparation is definitely key, have as much done or set up in advance as possible!
