Hi all!

Just got back from hospital after having my follow up scan. Baby seen and heartbeat ticking away but she did mention I have a hematoma/bruising around the gestational sac and should expect my bleeding to either get worse or it'll just stop and the hematoma will get reabsorbed into my body.
I miscarried in January so I'm petrified of passing any large clots.. how big can these clots be? The nurse I spoke to said if I pass anything bigger than a centimetre to get back in touch.
I've been having red/brown spotting for a week.. how long can they take to disperse? X

Cautious congratulations! I had SCH when pregnant after IVF and a v early loss on my previous IVF cycle. My anxiety was sky high. Baby arrived safe and well at term (he's now a boisterous 7 year old :-)).
I spotted brown/pink/red through the first trimester and well into the second and had a couple of bigger bleeds, which I know won't be good to hear...but all was well in the end.
This may not be something you want to pursue in Covid times but FWIW I had a couple of private scans along the way - they reassured for, ooh, about a day but that was still a help. Other than that, distraction is your friend, and stay away from Dr Google.

I had one of these diagnosed at 8 weeks after 2 weeks of spotting and bleeding. I bled for another week after that, never had any clots. Today at 10 weeks it is slightly smaller on the scan and healing but not healed yet.

Hey, I’m 17 weeks and have one. I’ve been bleeding since 10 weeks. Sometimes nothing and then sometimes a lot. Mine has been quite big and stayed the same size. Feeling very anxious. I have lost some clots but not many. There is a good Facebook group that has more detail/ women going through it with positive stories I find helpful. I’m feeling very anxious (more because I’m actively bleeding all the time). I know in a large number of cases they’re absorbed by your body or bleed out. Sending you the best.

I had one which was noticed at my dating scan (11 weeks).

I did have a small bleed at 13 weeks, but I'm 33+4 now and all looking good :)

Hi, I had this, I started bleeding after a private scan at 6 weeks, they hadn't said anything about it, but after a week I went to the early pregnancy unit, had another scan, and they said it was a bleed in the womb, not affecting baby, and would more than likely continue for a bit longer - it was about 12 days in total - before it stopped. I just had a 12 week scan yesterday and nothing was mentioned, so I'm hoping its gone away now. I read that it might be best to rest, so I did try to take things easy while I was still bleeding / spotting. I don't know if that helped or not. I also read that in most cases its fine, once the baby has a heartbeat, which I found reassuring.
