I last had my period 2nd February, but I had an early scan a week ago when they said I wasn't as far along as I thought, as there was only gestational sac and yolk, so I'm now 7+1 weeks. For the last week I had brown discharge, but today it has turned bright red. Last 3 times I've been to the bathroom when I wipe there were spots of bright red blood on it. I'm really really worried. I have another private scan on Saturday for reassurance but I can't help but worry. Anyone else been through this and gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

I bled around 7 wks for a while, I had a scan and it turned out I had a subchronic hematoma. The baby was completed unaffected and by 12 weeks it had gone, fingers crossed you have something similar

Thankyou, this is reassuring. There's so many different things happening I can't help but worry then Google everything then worry some more.

I had bleeding around 7 weeks in 3 pregnancies, 1 was a miscarriage the others are 3 and 4 now. Also had bleeding at 11 weeks in 2. The biggest difference between the miscarriage and the other 2 pregnancies was that I stopped having other pregnancy "symptoms" with the miscarriage.

I think that you need to try and resign yourself to fate a little and do your best to try and relax until the scan.

There's nothing that can be done at this early stage. It might be helpful to know that if it is a miscarriage that the best evidence says it isn't anything you have done that's caused it: 99.5% of miscarriages prior to 12 weeks are due to developmental abnormalities.

Fingers crossed everything is ok for you

Can you mention to your doctor or midwife and see if they think you should be referred to EPU?

Hoping it turns out to be nothing 🤞

Thankyou, I've still got nausea and sore boobs so I think thats a good sign. I had blood a few more times but now it's back to brown.

Thankyou, my first midwife appointment is scheduled for next Thursday so I will mention it then but if I start bleeding heavier and have cramps I will ring my Dr to refer me. It's my first pregnancy so everything is still very new.

Hi everyone, it wasn't good news. I went to early pregnancy unit and they measured the embryo at 7.8 mm crl and told me there's no heartbeat and there are tremors in my womb and haemorrhage behind the embryos head. Miscarraige is imminent. I'm devastated, I've never had one before this is my first pregnancy and we were so looking forward to having a little one. But we will heal in time and hopefully by next year we will have a new light in our lives.

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope the process goes as quick and straightforward as these things can. Xx

I am so sorry @Kittycaz, that must have been such devastating news. There are amazing support forums on here for those that have experienced miscarriage and other losses. They've been a great help to me. Take care of yourself.
