What do they feel like? I never had them with my first, but the past week I've been regularly getting period type pains a few times a day. I'm 30 weeks so know they can start around this time. I just always expected them to feel more like actual contractions!

Just feel like your whole bump getting tight basically. Mine usually goes across the sides of my bump. And usually near the top, not the bottom
They don't really feel like period pains in my opinion.

I haven't really noticed tightenings, just cramping. I never had anything with my first. Maybe it's my body reminding me of the pain I'm going to be in soonGrinBlush

I was having them during my 20 week scan but had no idea! Couldn’t feel them x

I didn't really get them this time until 38 ish weeks (DC2). They can be uncomfortable but aren't really painful, and aren't regular or sustained over a longer time. I mostly get them in the evenings, but getting up and moving around usually helps.

Mine feel like painless tightening... they make my bump go completely hard, especially at the top.

bardos · 06/04/2021 08:40

I've had them a few times a day for the last few days and feel like the cramps you get when period is about to start. I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow anyway, so I'll mention it to him

I've been getting them since around 20 weeks, now I'm 33 weeks and they feel quite intense, like tightening around my middle and front. No pain at all it just feels incredibly intense and it makes my heart pound!

PerspicaciousGreen · 06/04/2021 14:48

No pain, but my entire bump went absolutely rigid. Like flexing a bicep, but with my uterus! Occasionally had to stop for a moment and breathe because my chest would go right as a reflex! If you're bothered by them, try drinking insane amounts of water. I found dehydration always set them off and drank around 3L a day with my first otherwise I'd have them constantly.
