Heyy!!
i’m new to this but i need your help.

I came off the pill on the 6th March, had a normal period between 15th - 20th March. On the 26th of March i started to bleed again, but it varies from brown/light pink, then yesterday (31st March) the bleeding started to get heavier and more red, no clots but it varies from stringy to watery consistency. I have done 6 pregnancy tests, 4 cheap and 3 clear blue and all have said positive. I have done a clear blue digital and its saying 2-3 weeks.

I got told it was a miscarriage on the 2nd April, i couldn't resist myself to do another digital test today (5th April) and it's still saying 2-3 weeks. I thought my HCg would have dropped by now as i've been bleeding since the 26th March!!

Am i still pregnant? Has anyone ever had this before?

Morning @newmom321 💐

HCG can stay in your system for a while, and you can still test positive for up to 3 weeks after a miscarriage. Mine lasted for nearlu four weeks.

If you have been told by a medical professional that you’ve had a miscarriage then I would say these tests are detecting left over HCG. Albeit you sound very early into pregnancy so it may not take as long. The only way you could know for sure is a blood test x

He did also mention to test Friday and he said it will be 100% negative, but im still getting strong positives now..He did mention if it's positive to go back. 😓

My miscarriage took 5 weeks to go negative.
It stayed really strong for the first couple of weeks and I continued to have pregnancy symptoms

SnooperTrooper12345 · 06/04/2021 07:45

I don't know how he can say it will be 100% positive because that isn't always the case at all.
My doctors told me to not even test for 2 weeks to begin with and then test again each week if not.

Hi OP, obviously nobody online can answer wether you are pregnant or not. I think standard advice is usually to wait 2 weeks before testing and if it's still positive then contact someone. It can take a long time for HCG to leave your system. I'd put the tests down for now as you are only torturing yourself and testing so often won't give you any answers.

I'd test again in a week and contact your local EPU. They usually won't see you until 6 weeks but you could always ring them for advice. They might be happy to arrange a scan for you to check what's going on and that nothing has been left behind if you have miscarried.

I hope you're okay xx

Sorry you are going through this, I miscarried at what I think was 5/6 weeks last year and took 3 weeks for a pregnancy test to turn negative

Chica1990 · 06/04/2021 17:54

I would keep an eye on the tests, if they stay strong in a week or so and you are still bleeding I’d ask for a scan. I had a positive at the end of what I thought was a period, told I was probably miscarrying but turned out to be ectopic. That isn’t to say it’s going to be the case for you but always good to be vigilant!
